●iOS 8 Compatibility
After preliminary testing, we have confirmed that SONG SUMMONER does not function properly on iOS 8, and we are currently investigating the matter. At present, the following bugs have been confirmed:
- Tapping the SONG SUMMONER icon from the home screen does not load the game
We humbly ask for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve these issues.
A boy’s search for his kidnapped brother sets him against scores of mechanical minions in SONG SUMMONER: The Unsung Heroes – Encore. As the Conductor of legend, Ziggy has the ability to give physical form to music, summoning soldiers to battle from the songs in your music library. The song you choose determines which one of the over fifty unique Tune Troopers will answer the call and fight by your side.
This encore performance expands on the original Song Summoner experience, offering all-new Tune Troopers and a reworked storyline twice the size of the first, with surprises for fans both old and new.
•Follow Ziggy’s fight to save the music—and the world—from machine tyranny
•Summon Tune Troopers to battle from the songs on your iPhone or iPod touch
•Experiment with over fifty types of Tune Trooper
•Power-up characters even when not playing, simply by listening to music
•Enjoy over thirty hours worth of gameplay

Much Like FF Tactics, but quicker turns
Gameplay is very simple and fast paced. Characters are able to level via items the earn from killing enemies. The character creation seems random however if you spend enough time creating characters you will inevitably find a great character. The game is a bit pricey for an iOS game however when compared to a PSP or N3DS game it is still hard to turn down. I played the Lite version and found it addictive quickly grabbing the full version to continue playing. If you like FF Tactics but feel the gameplay is too slow this will definitely bring you back to that style play.
I can tell you feel the fever!
Unlike many other games, this game actually has really good dialogue! I got it for 5$ and I personally think it was totally worth it. Actual gameplay is phase-based combat, and there are very few apps like it, espescially with a story this good. Get it while it's cheap!
UPDATE: its a little short for ten dollars, but if you enjoy replaying games to try out different strategies, or like to 100% games (in this case, all 80 troopers at platinum rank), then you might get your moneys worth. Otherwise, unless you are a truly hardcore square enix gamer, the price is a little steep.
It's great, but...
The only problem I have that is keeping me from giving this a five star review is the fact that it auto saves DURING battle. If you are in a boss battle you can't retreat from, and you get to a point where no matter WHAT you do, you're going to die in the next turn, it sometimes saves in that situation. So you can't move forward, because you can't beat the level, and since it's a boss battle, you can't retreat and start over the battle, so you're forced to start a new game. I think it would be much better it it saved just before the battle starts, so you can plan out a different strategy.
