If you like African animals.....
....this is a pretty addicting game. There are some glitches and freezes, but an upcoming free upgrade will fix it. Great graphics, especially the animated backgrounds. Simple gameplay forces you to better your score. The added encyclopedia is a bonus, although some animal descriptions are locked and will be released in future upgrades.
i like it but.....
I liked it when i first played it. It only played once and just stopped working. You can select everything else but Play Game. Kinda upset i put $5.00 down on it.
5 Big Stars!
As I have said before, I am a big fan of the Match 3 games.
Animal Ark is NOT a typical Match 3 games.
In fact, upon first glance it looks nothing like a member of the Match 3 genre.
I actually thought it was some sort of 2 player card game or something.
The more research I did on the game, the more intrigued I became though.
The basic gameplay is very simple:
You start with 2 pieces in the center of the screen being fed from the bottom of the page.
Each one has an animal - Sometimes the same animal on both, sometimes different.
Next, there are 2 destination columns...located on the right and left of the screen.
These invisible columns are where you make your matches.
You need to line up 3 in a row of the same piece. You can switch the 2 animals in the
center to feed left or right.
The goal here isn't to reach a certain score, however.
Note the second photo (screenshot) above: See the little Zebras peaking out on the right and left?
Their image will alternate between this and a number.
If the number on the right is 1 and the left is 2, you must make the following:
Match 3 zebras once on the right
Match 3 zebras twice on the left.
Once this is done, you are ready to go to the next level.
What if you don't use your Zebras wisely?
You could top out and that means game over.
You have 'height' control over where you choose to drop the pieces.
This game is astonishing.
It's premise is simple, but it's incredible and addicting.
In fact, it's about as inventive on it's own as amazing games such as Tetris, Lumines, Meteos, Steamballs, Klax, Tiqal, etc.
GRAPHICS are beautiful. One of my favorite traits about this game is the animations within the backgrounds.
Most developers will use a static image for their background of a puzzle game, and that has gotten so old.
In the levels here, you see Buffalo, birds flying, raining scenes (awesome by the way!)
SOUNDS are also something special.
Not only are the sound effects crisp and right at home, but the music is gorgeous.
Very well composed, and a few different pieces of music going on - not the same old repetitive crap.
I HIGHLY recommend this game.
Even if Match 3 games aren't your thing, this is not a typical match 3...in fact, that seems an unfair category to put this game in.
