I'm having a hard time deciding....
The photos included in the game are superlative. And I really, really like the jigsaw cut pattern, although the identical cut is repeated over and over again for each and every puzzle. Once you've played a couple of puzzles, you'll automatically know just where each piece fits. The puzzles only go up to 35 pieces....not much fun in that. A person can easily finish a 35 piece puzzle in a minute or minute and a half after playing a puzzle or two.
It does have fairly nice music playing in the background ( or not playing if you prefer.) You can use your own photos, which is really nice. You can have pieces rotate or not, which is also quite nice.
The scrolling board area where the pieces await placement is quite large and takes up roughly a third of the playing area. And then the advertising panel at the top of the screen takes up more space and even prevents a person from seeing the top line of puzzle pieces.
Shrink that scrolling board down a bit, make the puzzle pieces a bit smaller, and the developer could throw in a puzzle size with a few more pieces. I have some jigsaw apps that go over a hundred pieces, and they are easy to see and place at that size.
Some of the other jigsaw apps I have even have several various types of cuts, which makes the game more interesting.
So all in all, this app does have some good features, not necessarily the best as the developer implies, but nice none the less.
BUT!!!!! the advertising in the lite version is sooooo intrusive and overwhelming as to make a person's hair stand on end, and make even a preacher cuss!!! When you first start the game you can't even choose your options without having full page advertisements lambast you in your face EVERY TEN SECONDS!!!! And to make matters worse, you have to wait a few more seconds before a way to "skip the ad" shows itself. THAT MAKES ME MAD!!! Either have NO demo version or at least allow the person trying the demo to take a short breath between ads.
I would have gladly paid the $.99 for the full version app because of the superlative photos and unique puzzle cut, but those darned ads made me so mad I am not sure now whether I will buy it or not, just on principle.
I do give the developer a heap of praise for taking the time to choose some really top notch photos and the nice pleasant background music.
Fix those totally intrusive ads, add a variety of puzzle piece cuts, and an option for more pieces in the puzzle and I would happily give the app 4 or 5 stars AND pay 2 or 3 dollars for this app!!!
