Evil Dead 2 + Friday the 13th + Streets of Rage = An Awesome Video Game!!!!!!

This is a really cool video game from the 1980's. I am surprised I didn't hear about it until last year. What happens in this game is Rick's girlfriend is captured by monsters that I swear look like they popped out of both the Evil Dead film series and the Resident Evil videogames. Rick dons an ancient mask that for some reason makes him become Jason Voorhees if he went to the gym while pumping up steroids and he has to fight through seven levels in order to stop the monsters and save his girlfriend. It is a cool concept.......heck, if it were in capable hands this would work great as a movie that pays homage to 1980's horror movies. The game is not as violent as you would think, well compared to what's out today in the video game world. But the fact that during this time period a video game that violent being made by the guys who were responsible for such classics as Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Attack, Galaga, and Dig Dug would have been shocking. Oh well. The controls on this thing work perfectly. You can even change the background to it and you can listen to any playlist while playing this game. I recommend this game but not to everyone because the horrifying theme of this game may be innappropriate for young children......and cowards. [The last sentence was based on the old tagline on the box for this game in the 80's.]

Bad port of a bad game

Lets get something straight right away, the original Splatterhouse is NOT a good game, it was popular merely due to its shock value, even still, many people, including myself, enjoy playing through it occasionally and I thought another run through at $0.99 would be worth while. It is not.

The game required a lot of precision to get through efficiently and this precision is completely lost due to the iPhones controls, thereby making an already poor game even worse and any fun that was to be had is replaced with frustration.

If you really want to experience Splatterhouse I would recommend looking elsewhere. The 2010 reboot of Splatterhouse (while still flawed) I found rather enjoyable and it has a proper arcade port of the original.

Great Game, But......

Never played Splatterhouse before, but I seen the screenshots and decided to buy it. The game is fun, except for the fact that the arcade mode is EXTREMELY short! It seems like it is going to be one of those games that has a s#!t ton of levels.... and then it just kind of abruptly ends without any kind of heads up that you are making your way towards the end of the game. The game is fun, but it's not really worth the $3 you gotta pay.... truthfully it wouldn't even be worth .99
