It's never been easier to keep track of your pulse - use your camera to turn your phone or tablet into a heart rate monitor!
Pulse-o-matic is a stylish and simple app for anyone who's curious about their heart rate or has a passion for health and fitness. You can keep track of your pulse and share it with friends, or measure your heart rate after an intense cardio workout and compare it to precious measurements.
Pulse-o-matic measures your heart rate just like a pulse oximeter and it's really easy to use. All you need to do is place your finger over the camera and you'll see your heart rate displayed on the screen, just like a real heart monitor.

It works fantastically well and surprised me at the genius behind using the camera and light on the iPhone4 to workout your heartbeat.
Great looking app, the visuals are excellent especially on the iphone 4 and really help this app. The features such as logging and being able to export to csv are handy - All in all this is not a bad app at all.
It works. I tested before an after jumping jacks. So cool...
★ Features ★
— You can easily share your heart rate using twitter, facebook or weibo, so you can prove to your friends you are not a zombie or a vampire.
— If you've been working out, or if you're interested in monitoring your overall cardio fitness, you can use the logging feature to track your heart rate over time, and export it later as a CSV.
— The advanced settings feature and the detailed, built-in help manual allows users to get the most out of the app, by configuring Pulse-o-matic in the way that works best for you and most accurately measures your heart rate.
— Pulse-o-matic's sleek visuals were based on old medical equipment and the burnished metal finish, crumpled paper effects and gently pulsating lights make it a pleasure to use.
★ How it works ★
Pulse-o-matic works by measuring the amount of light passing through your finger. With each heart beat, the volume of blood in your finger increases temporarily. This increase causes more light to be absorbed. Thus each heart beat corresponds to a drop in brightness and you can use the .
This technique is similar to how pulse oximeters work.
★ Limitations ★
Unfortunately, the iPhone's hardware is not designed for the purpose of measuring your heart rate and it is possible that certain users - young children, those with small hands, the undead zombies - may have difficulty using Pulse-o-matic.
Please see our website - http://pulse-o-matic.com/ - for the full details of the limitations, and to learn how to overcome them and more accurately measure your heart rate.
Note that here at Pulse-o-matic we respect our users' privacy. We will never collect, store or share any personal information about you, without your consent.
Lastly, a medical warning - while Pulse-o-matic will measure and track your heart rate, it is not a medical product.
Thanks so much to our loyal testers and users for their feedback! Without you guys, this app wouldn't have been the same.

Genius app! Really works and its accurate
Didn't think it would actually do its job, or at least get it done correctly, like it was purely for entertainment. But it gets it right AND it even changes as your heart rate does and displays it all right in front of you, even the individual beat strength line (those little pointy mountain things that appear every beep, goes flat when someone has "flatlined" (their heart stops)) or whatever it's actually called on a heart rate monitor
It Works fine!
I tried holding it with both hand and it was taking forever. The trick is to hold the phone with one hand only, your left exactly like the instruction and it works right away! Excellent!
Yes it works!!!
It's easy to tell that it works... Just take your pulse in your wrist while you're using the app and you can see the heartbeats match exactly. You don't have to wonder if its accurate, just check it. It's fantastic!
