This app was recommended by a friend. I can see why he enjoys it. I live in one part of Phoenix and I work on the complete opposite side of town. I put a lot of miles on my car, so I use a lot of gas. Like everyone else, I'm always looking for a way to save a buck. I like being able to go on this regardless of where I am in town, and find out the cheapest gas around. And for me it's not just the cheapest gas. Sometimes when I know I'm going to run out of cash I buy gas gift cards ahead of time. This way I can check out which station has the least expensive gas for the card that I'm using. I also like the feature where I can update the prices if they have changed. And my favorite thing is just being able to compare. And I've discovered something about Phoenix. I'm sure everybody knows this, but Scottsdale has the most expensive gas. I live in Fountain Hills, which is even further out of Phoenix, and gas is about $.20 a gallon cheaper here. Of course, where I work in the West Valley, it's about $.20 a gallon cheaper than it is here. I am really glad I downloaded this app.
The example page(s) do not show the obnoxious ad that appears at the top of the list of stations, nor do they show the obnoxious ad at the bottom of the map page. Poor choice of location and ad presentation.
Show me an unobtrusive ad at program start-up and I might click on it. Put an obnoxious ad on each page and I make a note to never do business with that company.
Other than the obnoxious ads the program is pretty good—for a user supported source of info—but I'll never give an app with obnoxious ads more than three stars.
One more thing...this isn't just an iPhone world, it is also an iPad world...so how about an iPad version?
Just another driver!!
Thanks to Gas Buddy and all the faithful followers we were able to save a lot of money this weekend traveling back to Kansas. It is a great way to keep informed at where the cheapest gas is. In knowing that information we were able to wait to fill up in the next town saving us 25 cents a gallon. Thanks to everybody that takes the time to summit prices !!
