Dominid is a challenging and addictive game of domino pyramid solitaire for iOS.
Returning to the store for free while an update is in work.
The object is to remove all of the dominos from the pyramid 2 at a time. The domino pairs can only be removed when their total value is 12. The timer keeps track of how long you have been playing. Your 10 quickest times will be saved. You can play casually since Dominid lets you pause at any time and remembers where you left off if your game is interrupted.
Simple good looking challenge
I ran into this game while looking for a nice casual game. The game play is simple but still a challenge. I like trying to beat my best time. I appreciate the fact that this app saves your game state when interrupted. The sound effects are minimal but effective and can be turned off. In the short time I've had it I've like playing the game while waiting for a meeting to start and while waiting in the doctors office. The graphics are pleasant and I wouldn't be embarrassed to be caught playing it.
One feature I particularly like that isn't obvious is the fact that each "Dominid" randomly generated still has a definite solution. So if you run out of moves you can replay the same game until you solve it. This isn't the case with other pyramid solitaire games I've played.
I like the saving of the top 10 best times, but I would like to see the incorporation of Apple's game center to take advantage of the leader boards feature. I would also like to be able to choose different wallpapers and domino backs. Perhaps the developer will add this in an update.
Domino Solitaire? Who knew.
The great thing about Dominid and most good solitaire games for me is they keep my brain occupied when I'm in boring meetings or when I'm stuck somewhere waiting for something.
I've grown tired of card-based solitaire and this was just what I was looking for - a novel implementation. And this is a very polished implementation.
Looking forward to new twists and features!
I love this game! I can't stop playing it. I love the challenge of beating my last time and at the same time I get to use the mathematical part of my brain! It is fun to play when I have just a bit of spare time. Whoever came up with this is very clever! What a great idea!
