Too many task managers? Why is this one any better? We looked at a lot of task managers and noticed how long it takes to add a quick task. For long-term objectives, more complex task managers might do the job, but when you need a quick reminder to get something done in a few minutes, all that complexity is a waste of time! We made a simple way to add a quick task so you can GET BACK TO WORK!
Do you feel unproductive? Feel like you can do more with your time? Want to not get distracted? Do you ever forget to do something? We have the app for you!
How do I know I need this application?
We found that people most likely to get this application are the ones that like to get a lot more stuff done with their time. People with ADD/ADHD find this tool very helpful. Whether you're distracted or want to manage your time better, Do It is the perfect app for you.
Are you in the middle of one task when you realize you need to get something else done too? Do It sits in your menu bar and lets you quickly and simply set yourself a reminder to Do It in a few minutes. If you're the type of person that likes to procrastinate, you can even tell Do It to lock you out of your computer when the time comes, so you're forced to go get the job done!
Choose the number of minutes and the alert message you wish to see, and Do It will count down the time you have left and then pop up your alert when the time comes!
• Alert windows can be normal size, fill the screen, or optionally lock you out of your computer.
• Alerts can be set to open a file or application when the alert fires
• Presets allow you to have easy creation of alerts you need repeatedly
• Snooze button (optionally) lets you delay an alert
• Easy access to the application from the menu bar
• Simple interface so you can set the alert without wasting time
What's New in Version 2.0
• Easier-to-use, gorgeous popover-style interface
• Optional countdown timer window
• Optional lockout feature that will force you to stop using your computer for however long you specify
• Optional "snooze" button to put off an alert to a later time
Dissapointed! Hope they change timer settings...
I need to make some budgeting changes next time I'm on the computer and I realized that I'm tired of using "Stickies" as my to-do list. I was hoping to find something more interactive yet simple. This seemed lika a great little app, so I chose this one over several others - without reading the ratings - didn't see the complaint about timer restrictions. Good thing it was only $0.99.
Being able to choose a date and time should have been a part of the basic programming. I was really dissapointed and bumfuzzled to realized that it's only programmable for minutes! I mean how is this even funcitonal for normal people?
On a good note, I really like that 1) you can set it to open at login and 2) an icon appears in the desktop menu bar for quick access and 3) it's very simple to use. So, I'll give it 2 stars instead of one. I'll change the rating if they change the timer settings.
Has Potential...Needs Improvements
I got this app for free so I can't complain but I would have been upset if I paid for it.
Suggested Improvements: 1. We should be able to customize menu bar that gives times, 5, 10, 15...to times we will use. Personally I don't need an alert for something 5 minutes from now. 2. You can only set an alert X minutes from now. There needs to be a calendar feature where we can set an alert on a specific day at a specific time. Currently you have to manually set any alerts EVERY DAY. 3. Needs recurring alerts option for things we do each day at specific time. If these improvements are made then this will be a very useful app. ATTN DEVELOPER...Not telling people you can only set alerts for X minutes from now is misleading for people paying you money.
Good for as far as it goes
I like this for little shoulder taps and reminders, but I need something that I can set for a specific date or range of dates. For what it is, it's fine. If it let me add dates and times, it'd be golden.
