Drop 7 is deceptively simple, hypnotically fun, and offers endless opportunities for mastery and mental challenge. Drop discs onto a grid, clearing discs when the number of discs matches the amount of discs in a column or row. Try to get chain combos and score as many points before the board is filled.

Five to one to three stars. Keep working
Major kudos for listening to your customers. So glad you brought back the classic look of the game but please continue listening and don't stop at this modest effort. Honestly, for those of us who were so upset about the new look of the game, this classic color scheme does not go far enough to fix what you broke. There is still too much animation that is distracting. It slows down the game play of the chains b/c of that unnecessary twist and pop before the next ball "bounces" (still with the bouncing, what is it with the bouncing?) into existence at the top of the screen. The game itself also seems sluggish and much less responsive. And lastly the grid still seems much smaller but that could just be me.
I'll keep checking back but this still isn't back to being the game I loved and played daily. Fix the animations, ie. get rid of them, and fix the responsiveness. Oh and congrats on getting rid of the ads. I figured of everything, those were going nowhere, so good job but keep working.
Update ruined my favorite game!
Update about the newest update: I'm so glad to have the classic colors and graphics back. It's still a little peppy and I miss my old game, but it's playable again. I haven't readdicted, but we shall see. Thank you for listening to our reviews and fixing the update debacle.
Drop 7 has been my addiction for at least 4 years. I play every day while I'm doing everything. I do NOT like the update! The graphics look ridiculous and make it hard to differentiate the colors without giving 100% focus. They also slow the game down big time. There is now a lag time in between the addition of rows and it's annoying. Why change something that worked great?! Hate the new music too. I never use the sound, but the old music was fun. Boooo hissss to the update!
Zynga has thankfully been very receptive to the mountains of negative feedback they've received in response to their ill-advised redesign of Drop7. First they brought back the ad-free version, which I happily plunked down another $3 for because I am a sucker. Now they've restored a version of the old look and feel as an option. It's a great sign that they're listening to our complaints, but we're not quite out of the woods yet.
The classic mode is still very sluggish compared to the original version of the game. Pieces drop and break at a frustratingly slow pace compared to how it was before. It still feels like the gameplay has been "dumbed down" to cater to a wider audience, while overlooking what made it great in the first place.
I propose a compromise: Make the speed of the game's movements adjustable. The default can be the new, slower pace that Zynga feels is better for whatever reason, but power users can dial it up to a speed more like what we're used to – or perhaps even faster for a greater challenge.
I hope Zynga keeps listening to everyone's feedback. Drop7 could once again be a 5-star game with a little more effort.
