No crashes here...A+++ game

This is my new favorite Big Fish title. Super scary just in time for Halloween.

I enjoyed the story, when on occasion I find the BF story lines kind of a yawn. I'm tired of princesses and castles. This one had bite. The puzzles were well thought out, and I REALLY liked being able to pick a difficulty level. I don't like sparkly hints when I'm trying to be challenged. BF if you are this more!!!

I also liked the clocked game time that shows you at the end how long it took to complete the game. I agree that too many BF titles are short for the dollar amount, but I got about a dollar an hour worth of entertainment, not including the extended scenes. Not horrible for production values this polished. I sure can't find any other HOG developers that put out so many consistently good titles on the iPad... Sure I'd love it if these games took days and days to complete, but honestly, it's as cheap as a paperback novel or renting an On Demand movie, and there is SOME replay value as I've noticed that the objects to be found will change on a second go-round.

Also, I am on a first gen iPad and had zero crashing and played the game through over the course of two evenings. I did buy the directors edition, but never even looked at the strategy guide. I bought it mostly for the extended scenes, which is really a "prequel". Only neg I found was you cannot zoom in the prequel as you can during the game.

Great Story, Terrible Gaming Experience

I gave this game four stars, because it had a five star story and a two star (maybe) gaming experience. I absolutely loved this game and I recommend it despite all the problems I had, but be warned, there is a high likelihood that you will have to restart your iPad . . . a lot. The game froze on me, again, and again. Maybe someone else has a better strategy, but I had to restart it every time it froze. When I did it would have loaded the next screen and I would play for a little bit longer.

I also had a lot of trouble understanding the pricing system, so I think that's why I now have access only to the bonus content. I might have guessed, but I have never before seen a game where I could by the bonus material without the rest of the game. It gives you one play through of the game and then access to the bonus content. Unfortunately I cannot figure out any way to unlock the content that I accidentally didn't buy. This isn't the first time I have had issues with a collector's addition. I had to buy a different game twice in order to get the bonus material, fortunately, I did so the second time during the sale weekend, so the bonus material only cost me $0.99.

I sincerely hope that they fix this problem so that the game doesn't freeze so often, but as long as you don't lose your progress, I still recommend this game. I might wait for a sale though.

One of the Best

I really enjoyed this game! My only true complaint is the length. It took about two-and-a-half hours total to play and that included multiple breaks I took. For $6.99, I expect a MUCH longer playing experience. Though, the content (what there was of it) was terrific. And while I'd prefer a more even split between hidden object scenes -- of which there were a ton -- and mini puzzles, of which there were very, very few, I still think this is one of the best games I've played to date. The game was engaging with a terrific storyline. And I liked that I could skip the dialogue by touching the text instead of having to wait through it at a pace that must be set for an illiterate. Even with the bonus chapter, the length was such a disappointment given the high price, but everything else contributes to making this one of the most fun Big Fish games of the approximately 40 hidden object games I've played. Excited for the sequel (but please make it much longer OR much cheaper; we all work really hard for our money and if BF wants loyal gamers then they they should seriously consider the feedback about game length versus cost which is an overly common complaint about most of their hidden object games).
