Puzzlejuice takes all of the elements of your favorite puzzle games and puts it into one convenient brightly colored package!
This game was designed to challenge both your spatial and verbal abilities and if you don’t feel overwhelmed then you might not be human. It’s a puzzle that will keep you hooked.
COME FOR THE PUZZLE. STAY FOR THE JUICE.
* HOW'S IT WORK? *
Multicolored BLOCKS constantly fall from the top of the screen and it’s up to you to arrange them. Once you complete a row with these blocks they will turn into LETTERS! The only way to clear out these blocks is to spell WORDS. Oh and also you can MATCH COLORS—that will make letters too.
* CORE MODE *
Test your endurance by seeing how long you can withstand the downpour. Complete objectives to unlock POWERUPS that will make you life easier as the game gets harder!
* ZEN MODE EXTREME *
Don't have a lot of time? Great! This mode is Zen because the blocks don't fall, so you don't have to worry about them piling to the top. This mode is EXTREME because you ONLY HAVE 90 SECONDS.
"LOCAL" MULTIPLAYER: There's a lot to do in this game so it's great to play with friends! One of you can sort the blocks while the others look for words. Divide and CONQUER.
PICTURE-IN-PICTURE: We've packed the same experience into both the iPhone and iPad, but we know that phones are small and thumbs are big, so when you start spelling a word on the phone, a preview pops up to show the letters underneath your fingers!
GAME CENTER: Challenge your friends or try to become the world's best Puzzlejuice Master!
DICTIONARY: Spell a word and don't know what it means? No problem, double-tap on a word to look it up.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES: Play the game in English, Spanish, French, Italian, or Dutch!
COLORBLIND SUPPORT: We've got you covered.
It’s not your mother’s word game; it has balls. Brass balls. Puzzlejuice is for closers.
What's New in Version 1.6.1
This is a small update. It only adds two things:
+ Working Twitter functionality in iOS6+
+ A link to our new game
The new game is called THREES. It's a tiny puzzle that'll grow on you. You may have heard a squawk or two on Twitter about it, we think it's pretty special. We've spent over a year on this tiny little puzzle game, agonizing over all the details until it felt perfect. Please take a look and let us know if you like it!
As always, none of my games will ask you for a review, so please take a moment and re-review puzzlejuice if you're still enjoying it :)
This is an amazing, difficult, puzzler but it makes me sad that so many people diss it. The controls are amazing and I experience no problem at all! You swipe to move the incoming blocks and you also swipe to spell words; but they don't interfere. I also hear complaints on difficulty; read the description!!! This game will literally make your iDevice grow arms and punch your brain. Okay, not really, but you get the point. That wasn't put there as a lame gimmick- this game is seriously unhealthily hard. If you're looking for something more slow paced, buy Tetris or SpellTower, not PuzzleJuice, which is basically a combination of the two. I bought this after I got Threes and the two are beautiful apps that you will not regret buying. Both are challenging puzzlers (Threes is much more slow paced, however, but still hard to master) and you should totally buy both. Anyways, sticking to the topic at hand, this game has awesome brain-punching game modes with different difficulties that will make you frustrated. If you are ready to take on an awesome challenge, play Tetris, spell words (some slang included), and listen to a creative soundtrack, don't hesitate! A word search puzzle book costs the same except PuzzleJuice is much more entertaining!
I have noticed one bug I would like to point out. When saving a high score, although I go backspace and type new characters, the name Broseph stays. Broseph is pretty rad but I miss my name.
A Great Game on Par With Threes
If you like Tetris and other word search/spell games (such as Spelltower), this will be right up your alley. It's great fun, and has interesting gameplay - combining the shape-matching challenge of Tetris or Columns with the need to spell words in resulting letter rows (when you create a solid row) to ultimately make the rows disappear. It does get to be little tricky rather quickly, so you'll want to be up for some fast thinking and multitasking. I've noticed that some folks have remarked that it gets stressful, which can certainly be a fair assessment in many senses, because it does require you to essentially manage two puzzles simultaneously. The game really stretches you to use different skills at once - if you're itching for a challenge and are not too easily frustrated - you'll love it. I certainly enjoy the fact that it makes me balance two challenges at one time. For that reason, in fact, the game is always fun and seems to constantly be "renewed" with new challenges. The only complaint I have seems to be the same as others - you're unable to use the keyboard to enter your name and save data. (That's a pretty minor quibble though.)
Compelling game, confusing challenges
The basic game is brilliant: a combination of Tetris puzzle and multi directional Scrabble. Therefore you have to juggle fitting together of falling shapes to complete lines that turn into letters which you make into words.
Now to the part of the game that is not fun or interesting. After a set of challenge which are helpful in developing speed and agility, you get challenges that are not just tough but sometimes inexplicable. So the challenges go immediately from beginner level 1 to way hard level 7 without any intermediate steps.
I really prefer a "reward" system that is based on badges that you can collection. So you can get three bases for million points, badges for two million, badges for five six letter words in a game. It would be fairly easy to convert current system to something, anything better much better. Learn from Fitbit.
Biggest peeve: One challenge says 20 words without lines. What does that mean? You need lines to get letters. So words not on one line? Words not in a line? Words that don't cause a line? All you find out in terms of feedback is that you have failed the challenge which you don't actually understand. Puzzle juicers. You can do better. And I hope you do.
