Scorekeeper XL is a great app for keeping score when playing board games or party games with your friends.
How to use:
Top left button: add player.
Top right button: sort lowest-to-highest.
Bottom right button: toggle volume.
Bottom left button: reset scores to 0.
When editing a player, you can use the skull and crossbones to delete that player.
To increase a player's score, simply tap on the plus and minus buttons next to their score. If you hold the button it'll count up a lot quicker.
That's about it, have fun!
What's New in Version 1.1
Rewritten from the ground up! Now works in iOS 7.
Look for a bigger update coming soon with some cool new features.
iPad + Apple TV + ScoreKeeper = Instant Score Board
Searched for hours and finally found the perfect app! Need something for our youth group Family Game Night to act as a scoreboard for roughly 15 teams. Searched many scoreboard/score keeping apps but none (paid or free) had the option of automatically rearranging leaders after every round (or every time you update points). This one is what I was looking for. It never came up in my searches because of "scorekeeper" being one word... found it through a series of "related app" scrolling.
Gorgeous and simple
I got so lucky in my search for a great score keeping app this afternoon playing Mexican Train with my family. I love the way it looks. It's simple and easy to use. I was even able to color each player's data to match their train color! If I could add one feature, I think I'd like to be able to count by some other number. For example, for count dominoes it'd be nice to be able to score by fives. But I really love this app!
No numbered keypad??
App is colorful but lacks a basic numbered keypad for quick and easy score entry for high-scoring games as is the case for certain card games. Holding the "+" button and fumbling for the exact score is annoying.
Also, display only works in landscape (sideways) mode and not portrait mode. This means you have to use the slide bar instead of having all player's names visible all at once.
The lack of these features prevent a 5 star review. Hopefully, developers will read this and other reviews and update app ASAP! In the meantime, "Pointedly" app is my app of choice.
