★★★★★ The Act is now on sale for limited time! Celebrate summer by downloading this unique, emotion-packed game and help Edgar win Sylvia's heart! ★★★★★

Introducing The Act – an exciting new interactive comedy that makes gaming feel like playing a classically-animated movie. Take control of Edgar, a humble window washer, and help him on his quest to save his job, rescue his brother, and woo the woman of his dreams!

In The Act, you control both Edgar's actions and emotions. Swiping left or right with your finger will cause Edgar to react in different ways, and engage with other characters. Be careful, though, swipe too far and Edgar may get over-confident and things can get out of hand!

Everything about The Act is beautiful, from its classic hand-drawn style, to its warm-hearted character animations, to its captivating storyline. It's unlike anything else on the App Store.

With amazing, downright-hysterical animations throughout the game, The Act is a tremendous amount of fun for anyone.

Fluffy, charming, short

The Act is obviously meant to be an arcade game, as evidenced by its brevity, its three-life-then-continue? structure, and its otherwise high quality/production values. While three dollars seems pretty expensive, it's certainly cheaper than the quarters you'd pour into a game like this otherwise.

The control mechanism is logical and intuitive, if a little on the invisible side. It's difficult to tell, for example, whether Edgar's behavior is controlled by the number of swipes, the total distance covered by the swipes, the speed of the swipes, or some combination of the three; however, even so, Edgar behaves more or less as you expect him to for the most part.

The presentation of the game is probably what stands out the most. Each character is lovingly animated, and the whole thing has the feel of a classic French animation. The jazz that accompanies it is swinging and the way it changes is just as indicative of your progress as the character animations are.

At the sale price of one dollar, it's well worth your money. At three dollars, I understand the hesitation, but if you're interested in games with style, it's difficult not to recommend this.

"The Act" is a game that brought back feelings I hadn't experienced since playing the Don Bluth classics, "Dragons Lair" and "Space Ace." It feels more like a playable movie than a video game, and that's not a bad thing.

I'll agree with what some people have said about the games length being less than I expected, but honestly the experience made it worth every star I gave. The animation is absolutely fantastic, each scene has a myriad of different character animations. Some are subtle, some are explosive, but they're all fluid and fun to watch.

And yes, it's a bit tricky, but honestly, I miss that about old video games. I don't always want my hand held through every single level, sometimes I just want to keep trying until I figure it out. Challenge is what makes games great, and this feels like a sort of puzzler. If you get stuck, just keep trying, it's what gaming used to(and still should) be about.

Seriously, give this game a chance, and you'll be rewarded with amazing visuals, and a charming little story.

Perfectly executed & unique concept but it's way too short

Unique concept, excellent animation, lovable story, medium to high replay value & easy to comprehend controls make game FUN for kids & adults... However it is WAY TOO SHORT. I think spending a dollar was worth it even though I beat the game in 15 minutes but others may not think that. If you purchase this app keep in mind that the gameplay is VERY BRIEF(15 to 30 minutes) as it is VERY SATISFYING.

Also it is worth noting that the loading time completely screeched to almost a halt at 90% and it took more than a few hours to load. Reading some of the reviews below, I have found that others have had the same problem so BEWARE OF THE LOAD TIME.
Hopefully Chillingo will update this game so there is more episodes to appease the naysayers, otherwise it may not be worth the load for many people.
Other than those flaws I think this is an EXTREMELY ENJOYABLE GAME but needs to be extended... And finally I love Edger and Sylvia as a couple! <3 ^_^
