Remote documents, videos, and music

This application does everything I would hope. Unlike stinkin' iTunes this will let me copy arbitrary files not on iTunes' small list of supported file types.

The media player is great, streaming over the network, and also allowing me to take local copies, both good options that work well.

The only thing missing, would be for the media player to have better list management options, such as moving to the next file alphabetically, or even shuffling.

Was a great product now useless!

I had nothing but good to say about file explorer when it was first released. Outside of a few flaky crashes which appeared to be network related the product worked very well. As first released I would be happy to have recommended it to prospective users.

Then they screwed up the product by adding the iOS Touch ID feature. Where once you could protect your privacy with a separate password (different from from your logon password) now they merely protect the app with touchid. This means that anyone who has touchid access to your iPad or iPhone can now browse your file explorer folders! So if you have shared your device with, say, other family members via Touch ID, they have complete access to your folders. That really screwed the pooch for anyone interested in maintaining privacy.

I brought the issue to the developers attention but they have essentially ignored the problem. Guys - Touch ID is way down the feature list compared to maintaining privacy.

I guess I'll be reluctantly looking for an alternative solution.

Everything I want

I wanted to be able to see my windows file system on my iPad. This app does everything I want. In fact after installing I found features that I was not looking for but might be useful, such as copying local versions of some files.

Have not experimented to see if all of the file extensions have viewers, but what I regularly use is there.

Good job!
