Five A Day is a fruit-'em-up. It is a lovely combination of chill, thrill and healthy eating. Fly through skies full of fluffy clouds as you relax to the ambient soundtrack while shooting down squadrons of enemies and robbing them of their bananas, apples, aubergines and other fruits and vegetables.
Rescue minotaurs as you go to receive useful shockwave bursts of bullets. Successfully bring your fruit to the end of each level to earn your way to your Five A Day.
Healthy eating is rewarded with an extra life!

Hard to go wrong with Llamasoft
Yep, I'm a fan. I don't even read the reviews or look at the ratings anymore. I just know it'll be good. I'm hoping he reinvents the wheel with the next game. Goat-up, gridrunner, and this one are all easily 5 star games, but I feel like the dev has a real masterpiece that hasn't _quite_ been realized. Minotron: 2112, Deflex, and Caverns of Minos were just such masterpieces, (perfect to me), so I hope there's a game in the works that can live up to legend it's become in my mind. Another solid game, but hoping to see another mind-blower like the 3 I listed.
I'm not sure I get what the fuss is about over Llamasoft games. I kept seeing these well reviewed Minotaur themed games and was finally tempted to purchase one by seeing a retro genre I actually liked. Maybe it's just me, but Five a Day seems pretty bare bones, uninventive, and well just not that fun. There are plenty of much better and cheaper retro Shmups out there. Can someone please explain the purpose of touching the screen randomly to get points as the fruits are flying around at the end of each level? I didn't have any clue I was even supposed to do anything and just figured it out randomly when tapping the screen from boredom.
Minter in top form.
I never imagined that I'd be praising a chill-out remix of Time Pilot, but here I am.
I'm a long-standing fan of Llamasoft - I've been playing their games since the c64 days. This one has rapidly become one of my favorites. It's a great mix of increasingly frantic action, laid-back action, and silliness - easy to get into, great for both short plays and long serious high score runs.
