Good...but needs work
I've read a lot of comments and agree with them. It would be nice to use the money earned towards clothing/racquets and other customizations. It would also be nice to be able to play both circuits...the ATP and WTA. Just some thoughts for the creators. I've also run into the issues of my player doing random things during a match. I have been up 3-0 multiple times during matches when all of the sudden my player runs random directions or doesn't hit the way I swiped or just simply freezes up to the point I can't do any action. It's very frustrating because I will dominate then have to go in tie breaks. I don't know if that was an intention from the creators, but it's stupid. I think this overall is an awesome game, especially if you're a tennis fan...but it does need some changes if it truly wants to be a top game. I do hope that they add players so that you can play with both genders as well as options to use your earnings for customizations.
Sort of Okay......
This game is quite enjoyable in the beginning, but as you play more and more you become quite disenchanted. It is quite obvious that some matches and tournaments you are meant to lose. The controls you have utilized to accomplish early wins, no longer work. Your player doesn't move and your shots start going out everywhere and your opponents start hitting winners all over the place. It is quite frustrating to tediously move through, and win, the early tournaments only to lose in the first round in the larger and more expensive tournaments. I have enjoyed the first few days I played, but now I think I will delete it to make room for other games. Too bad for this, I really wanted to like this game more!
Update: I deleted this game finally. I am glad I bought it on sale. The whole thing is rigged to such an extent that it is unenjoyable. Time after time I got ahead of opponents 40 - Love, only to lose the game, and many tournaments. It's GONE from my iPad!
Not bad at all. This game is a solid representation of real tennis (for the most part), and this comes from an avid tennis fan. I'll give it an extra star when:
1) Drop shots are more accurate (i.e. not floating up at the net for easy sitters)
2) The AI is given a few higher difficulty levels (I can easily defeat a "very hard" AI 6-0, 6-0)
3) You use real players as opposed to made up ones
4) You make the world tour mode at least remotely similar to the console versions'.
Seriously, make it so that your "very hard" AI doesn't make every other shot a poorly executed drop shot. Easy pickings.
When any or all of these happen, this game will get the five stars that it is capable of deserving.
