PDF OCR X Enterprise Edition 4+

I've been using Adobe Pro for years to handle my OCR needs, and decided to try this because when I'm using Adobe for OCR I can't use it for other tasks.

PDF OCR X Enterprise Edition has a straightforward interface, and does a good job in terms of OCR accuracy. I'm mainly interested in doing batch OCR jobs, and while PDF OCR X Enterprise is capable of batch jobs, it is substantially slower than Adobe. On the other hand, it is much less expensive.

I have used the free copy of this product that only does 1 page at a time for over a year. Now I needed to convert a 197 page file of medical records. The records had been scanned in and were images that were not searchable. Some of the pages were landscape and some were portatait. I started the conversion and took a 15 minute break. When I returned it was just finishing. The final product was everything I hoped for. With the search function I literally saved 4-5 hours of work and did not have to worry about missing a word burind in the image somewhere. I am using it on a MACBOOK pro running Sierra. The installation only took a few minutes and was smooth. I just clicked download and then opened it in a 2-3 minutes.

This is the best software for creating searchable PDF's you’ll find, unless you want to step up to something quite pricey like ABBYY. In this price range, PDF OCR X is the ONLY software I’ve seen that actually preserves the ORIGINAL DOCUMENT IMAGE in the final searchable PDF. (The other apps like to cobble together their own PDF that is a mishmash of bits of image from the original mixed with pure text; the result is usually ugly and only vaguely resembles the original.) For my purposes, preservation of the original image is vital, so this make PDF OCR X the only suitable solution for me.
