Fun but irritating

I've been using Depop for about 2-3 months now to sell my stuff (which isn't as long as some others but I think I've learned the way around the app) and have between 1-2 thousand followers. When I first started, although not long ago, I appreciated how diverse the app was through its customers and the explore page. I'm not "butt-hurt" about not getting featured, but come on... for the past few weeks the explore page has been the SAME, already Depop-famous people. Not only that, but I've seen them feature up to 5 products by those same people at once. If you're focused on building an aesthetic feed, there's still plenty of smaller accounts that I've seen who provide clean, quality photos and unique products. It's extremely hard for smaller accounts to grow and sell now that Depop doesn't feature a variety of people. Give everyone a shot at their few seconds of fame! Also, I've seen stock images or unoriginal photos on the explore page too. It's like Depop doesn't even care to put in the effort anymore to at least do a little profile searching and see that this is not the seller's photo. Once I even saw just a selfie with sunglasses (that of which Depop probably thought they were selling) whose caption was just something about the seller and then "not for sale." All the comments were wondering why that was on the explore page, and I was too. It gives us the impression that you don't put in effort to make quality explore page.

Overall Great App

A few months ago my friend introduced me to Depop, and it has definitely grown on me. I love the concept and in the short time I’ve used it I’ve gotten some dope pieces. I’m primarily a buyer in the app, and so far my experience has been great - the sellers I’ve worked with have been very kind and they’re easy to work with. The user experience is overall pretty smooth, I’ve only noticed a few bugs every now and then. For instance, sometimes when I open the app it shows a red dot on the message tab as if I have a new unread message, but when I go to the inbox it shows no new messages. Another bug I’ve noticed is sometimes when I try to open my notifications, the button doesn’t work so I end up having to press it multiple times before actually being able to see them. The last one I noticed (and probably the most significant) was that after browsing the app for a while, the app unexpectedly closes and loses track of where I was looking last. It can be a little inconvenient when I’m deep in a search and it closes, cause when I open it again it can be hard to find the item if I wasn’t able to like/save it before the app shut down. But other than those few issues, it’s a great app!

Room for improvement

I've been using depop for over 2 years now and have just a few suggestions to make it better (in my opinion)
1. The option to cancel/refund a buyer immediately through the app. It's virtually impossible to refund someone without losing money as a seller, since payments are sent directly to PayPal where a fee is taken out (my next suggestion for improvement) sellers will always be out a few bucks for refunding someone due to PayPal feels. Like depops competitors Mercari and Poshmark they have easy ways to cancel orders and refund buyers.
2. There should be a way to receive payments through PayPal to avoid fees. I don't want to raise my prices to accommodate the fees because I always raise my price 10% to accommodate depop fees.
3. Very often shipping on my items switches from USPS (which I chose) to arranging my own shipping (which I do NOT want). I have had this issue several times and I am then at a loss bc shipping within the app is much cheaper and efficient. When it glitches and people buy my items with this shipping chosen I then have to pay more for shipping and visit my local post office which is difficult due to their specific hours and the fact that I'm a full time student and work a full time job.
