Landmark game for storytelling

If you haven't heard about Bastion by now and are a gamer in any way, even a purely mobile gamer, I have to be wondering how you avoided the massive amounts of praise Bastion had received over the years. Even on iOS, the controls are fluid and easy to use, I originally played through Bastion on iOS as opposed to my PC, and even then the controls never let me down, though I do recommend not using the virtual joystick mode.
The storytelling in the game is amazing, mostly due to to a great narrator, fantastic backstory and immersive atmosphere. I went into this game not expecting much of a story, but came out feeling like I was about to cry at a point near the end. Of course the atmosphere of the game helps immensely, and the biggest part of that is the soundtrack. Oh my, the soundtrack. I have listened to the end credits song more times than most other songs in my library, game or otherwise, it is spot on.

I know this is a bit scatterbrained of a review, but trust me, buy Bastion, buy Supergiants other game, Transistor, if it ever comes out on iOS (and I seriously hope it does, it's another amazing game, with an even better soundtrack than Bastion that you can pick up on iTunes right now,) and buy any other game Supergiant releases in the future, they are amazing.

iPhone 5s on iOS 7.0.4

I've searched for a title that rivals Square Enix (SE) titles on the iOS platform for quite a while and with marginal success until this discovery. SE puts out a title and essentially abandons it thereafter, leaving end users to deal with bugs affecting gameplay and compatibility. SE titles are also cost prohibitive, which merely compounds the problem, i.e., users pay a lot for less support than other developers provide at even a tenth of SE's price point. Therefore, my first and most important concern is developer support. Bastion gets a check. My experience has been that, when necessary, quarterly, biannual, or annual upgrades are all these titles usually require. That allows them to maintain OS and handset compatibility. The rest of my major concerns are straightforward: (1) creativity; (2) aesthetics, i.e., look/feel; (3) story; and (4) gameplay. Bastion gets a check for each, and is a well-qualified replacement for SE. Keep turning 'em out, Supergiant, and keep supporting 'em! Goodbye, SE. It's wasn't the best run and I'm glad it's over. I paid $4.99, and it was well worth it. $0.99 is a steal if you get it on sale.

P.S., Supergiant needs to bring "Transistor" to iOS sooner rather than later!

Crashes and lags taint an otherwise incredible experience

Let me just start off by saying that despite the issues, this game was definitely worth the purchase. That's right, all 500 pennies. Even with its problems it's still a decent port of a console game. I loved everything in this game from its story, to its visuals, to its music, and especially Logan Cunninghams epic narration. The man was obviously born for this. After I beat this game, I automatically wanted to play it again, and that is just what I did. If it wasn't for my phones limited storage space and my urge to play other games, I definitely would have completed this game 100%. Sadly, however, there just so many awesome games in the AppStore and so little time. I can only imagine how incredible it must feel to completely conquer Bastion. Yet even with all the praise I can give this game, I just cannot ignore the nuisances caused by its bugs. Like I said earlier, though, I loved this game despite this. And even though it's bugs were irriating, I never once thought to delete the game as an option. I enjoyed it too much in spite of that. In the end, I feel it was worth the money, although if you can't stand bugs, I'd recommend you wait for the next sail.
