Great idea but some tweaks should be made.
I enjoy this app. It reminds me of that game "hot or not" where you rate people solely by their picture. It's kinda of like that and it's great because you cannot hurt anyone's feeling. If you "nope" someone they will not receive a notification or anything telling them that they've been "noped". It's fun. However, there are a few things that need to be changed. The distance is all screwed up. I have mine set to a certain distance but many people show up that are not within that set range. And It would be nice if the app wasn't going by YOUR location at the time. I think there should be a way to set a location and keep it as that. If you travel out of your area, it will start pulling up people in that specific area. That's great for those just looking for a one time hook up while on vacation or something, but not for those actually looking to meet people locally. Please add an option to change that! Because otherwise, I think this app is fun and it is a lot easier than traditional dating sites!
Mostly inactive users and buggy
There's a lot of people on here that aren't even remotely close to your area. They will just be fake users, probably ones the app makers created to drum up interest. Every time I go on there, I'm surprised at how many attractive people are apparently joining, but it's impossible to believe that considering how other dating sites are. Also, if you get a notification from the app and follow the link in your center, it will go to the app but never load. I brought this up to the makers and they blew me off saying I had to reinstall and restart everything. Guess what? It didn't work. They don't want to admit that it has an issue. It probably isn't even all that hard to fix for an app developer, but it still lingers. You shouldn't need to double tap home and end an app just to reopen it for it to work. That makes the notifications pointless. I think a lot of users are getting notifications and then not seeing the messages and giving up, which is unfortunate because people are trying to connect on this app.
In theory, the Tinder app is a great idea - but nothing I've never seen before. Unlike "Let's Date" - which allows you to pick 5 personality traits, along with other facts about yourself (i.e Diet, Religion, etc) Tinder is based on pure physical attraction, which isn't ideal, but it'll do.
The problem with an app like this is there are a few hundred thousand kids out there, but there all broken down into different categories; those being: people looking for hookups, people looking for LTR, people looking for friends - and there's no way to weed through them all. So you end up "matching" with dirtballs who first messages are always "DTF?"
Another problem I have with Tinder is that your location is not locked in. Meaning it moves when you move. No. I don't want that. If I live in San Francisco, I would like to meet people from SF as well. Not people who spent one afternoon there and ended up in my feed for the day, but really live in Santa Cruz. It's UNBELIEVABLY frustrating when I swipe right on someone who is "10 miles away" then when we match I look at his profile it says someone crazy like "82 miles away". Ain't nobody got time for that.
Another thing is that there's no way to mass unmatch people, so you have to sit there and manually go through each profile and unmatch them, one by one.
Also, everything there's an update with "Bug Fixes" - I spend the next 24 hours dealing with app crashing every five seconds. Some bug fixes.
