Many games rarely ever add a challenge like this. Which isn't always as good as it sounds. Though rewarding at times it can also be extremely tedious. Going by fame points (this is what's used to buy things in the shop outside of the game) you could spend months or even years trying to unlock a character depending on two things how often you play and how well you do. However it's kind of lame to offer an in app purchase so expensive to just buy off these rewards. Rather than making the rewards a little more feasible they make them seem nearly impossible and offer a quick solution to just buy your way to glory. A basic round ending in say lvl 4-5 will earn roughly 1k Fp which can buy you absolutely nothing useful at that moment. However I think it's wonderful they do not force you to buy anything but give the opportunity to grind your way to this point if you're brave enough ^~^.
I say 4/5 because the game often times doesn't explain things fully and certain enemies /weapons you just kind of have to guess at. For some this can be exciting new test dummies for me it's a hit or miss because if I buy a bad weapon it can mean the difference of life and death lol I'm not an expert because I don't play enough but this game is certainly fun none the less!
Love this game
This was the first free rogue-like RPG I have found on IOS that looked like it was worth a try, and it definitely was worth it. It is true that the mechanics are very simple and repetitive, but that is what gives the game its charm. The instructions are simple, straightforward, and concise, and it is easy to learn how to play. The game starts out very simple and easy and increases in difficulty at a very reasonable pace. It goes fast enough to not get boring, but slow enough to not get frustrating. Each time you play, you earn fame points that you can save up and eventually spend to unlock certain things like different heroes to play as. The prices seem very reasonable: high enough that you have to play for a while to unlock new heroes, but low enough that it is not ridiculous. In the game itself, you occasionally get a shop where you can buy weapons, armor, and such for coins that you earned during that iteration. The items are not too expensive, although in early game you are quite limited in what you can buy. The only thing I would change here is to add more variety to the items you can buy.
Clunky, repetitive, and tedious
This is a very basic game, run into enemies, they die. But to balance the simple mechanic, they decided to make the enemies hurt you if they touch the clunky hit-box of you character, difficult, but still simple. This makes the most effective enemy the blob because of its round shape, which is actually a square hit-box, and it is the only enemy the comes out of the ground at an ambiguous time. An example of this enemy in action is when dodging the gravestone enemy's projectile skulls, at first it seems you should jump or dodge it somehow, but this is foolish, because if you do, you will fall right into a rising blob that you cannot expect, which does more damage if you continue to run along side it. Not to mention the terrible reward system, which gives 1/30 of the value of the first useful object in the game for each task you complete. The next useful object in the game is double the price of the previous one. In addition, you can only complete the three current "quests" at a time, which should really be called tasks for their simple requirements. This game is very similar to the game "Jetpack Joyride" but has terrible game mechanics as I mentioned before, which makes this game unoriginal, but also have no understanding of what actually made the game it rips off fun. Overall, it isn't worth the price that it was trying to sell for.
