Your kids will love flipping through their Artkive books to see their creations, and they make great gifts for grandparents and other loved ones.

Artkive currently offers 3 different membership tiers offering benefits such as free book credits, discounts, and other surprise benefits which offset most, if not all of the cost of membership. Great app that solves a problem

Brooklynmama5

If you put your child's artwork in a box and think that someday you'll do something with it, maybe you will, but you probably won't. This is a great app b/c it is such a smart and easy way to save your children's artwork, share it with grandparents and friends and then create a beautiful book of their art that you'll have forever. l LOVE this app because it's so easy to use and eliminates my guilt about throwing out my kids' art.
As for their new subscription service, I pay monthly fees for Pandora, consumer reports, and the Times crossword puzzle. It's not a big deal. Those of us who love this app want to see it continue and to get even better. The Company is probably doing what they have to do. Thanks Artkive. Your service is well worth the small monthly fee. Oh, and I should add that their concierge service is a terrific perk.

Keeps Crashing

Right now I’m switching back and forth between my Photos and Artkive to double check the dates of my kids’ artwork and the Artkive app keeps crashing! Eye roll. It’s very frustrating and yes I have the latest update.
Also, I have 5,000+ photos on my phone. I’ve saved some artwork to my Favorites file to make finding it easier, but Artkive does not have an option to load photos from your favorites file. :( Instead I have to scroll through 3 years worth of photos to find one phallic-looking light saber that my 10yo drew in first grade. This app is such a great idea in theory but it’s cumbersome to use.
Plus why does it have to start out with a login screen that has to authenticate my account EVERY TIME I open the app, even if it’s in the background and I’m toggling between apps? If someone is looking through my phone without permission, I highly doubt they’re going to try to login to my Artkive app and view my kids’ juvenile artwork.

Sad

As a parent, I am well aware of the massive amounts of work my kids produce. I understand. But as a visual art and design teacher, I am all too aware of the effort and care that my students take on their work. A quick snapshot is not going to illustrate the depth and care that a student has taken. And then to monetizing the artwork itself with selling stuff printed with it? Wow, am I disappointed. This is the definition of not appreciating kids. If you want to digitize your kids artwork, please do. But do it with care (not with an iPad camera). And know that your kids take care with work. Please take time to ask them about it. And if you must discard some, please be very thoughtful! Also, it may be helpful to read the Atlantic article from Oct. 25, 2017 on The Hidden Meaning o Kids’ Shapes and Scribbles. Appreciation of your kids work is important; they deserve it.
