Very poorly crafted app. For starters, recently downloaded it and while registering it, on those unavoidable steps like selecting a security question, the app simply doesn’t show the options, as if it had frozen or something, and there’s nothing in this world that can make it show you the options so you can select one and move forward. And don’t blame me, I’m having trouble with it using an Iphone 7. After a lot of aggrivation I decided to speak to someone in the chat who maybe could help, just to realise that the chat works through an overlay (very impractical for phone apps!) also very poorly built making it a REAL NIGHTMARE to control, just like when you try to access a desktop version of most websites using a phone with all of glitches and challenges. Finally, after many attemps I was able to chat with someone, with little to no interest in assisting and a scathing inaptitude in the English language.
Long story short, I’m gonna have to register for online banking using a desktop computer and hope I can access it from my phone later on using the app. I sincerely hope it doesn’t simply get stuck again when I try do a transaction with it. It’s pretty ridiculous, better off with other companies that understand the importance to have stable, reliable softwares with user-friendly interfaces. I honestly am considering closing out that account and moving on to another card!

Considering cancelling my card because of this app

Ka Lyn Na

I have never reviewed an app before, but the frustration of trying to use any of HSBC's online banking tools have brought me here. I have the HSBC Rewards card, and it's got a really good cash back rate! The best one I could find. But I am SERIOUSLY considering cancelling this card and never banking with HSBC because this app and their website are so poorly designed that I never want to interact with them ever again. It's really that bad. They are so unintuitive and the design is so clunky, it feels like an internal portal for a low-end corporate office from 2006. Every time you click to get somewhere within your account it opens up a new tab. I was trying to figure out how to redeem the rewards and ended up with 6 new tabs. I almost cancelled my card then and there. My Barclay card has worse rewards than this, but I'm honestly ready to pay a yearly fee and get less, than ever having to open this site or app ever again. They're THAT bad. Heads up, HSBC: If you want to keep your customers, overhaul your entire approach to online banking. Geez.

Worst Banking App I’ve ever used!

I have several accounts with multiple banks. Decided to get the HSBC GOLD MC because of offer they sent me in the mail with a decent APR and no Foreign Transaction fees but this app is a deal breaker. I’ve had the account for a week now, everything set up, Touch ID working but I CAN’T SEE ANY INFO on my transactions!

What is the purpose of this ancient UI with no REAL TOOLS to assist me with my banking? I’ve used the card multiple times already and even set up some of my bills for auto pay using the HSBC MC and I can’t see any of my transactions...NONE! One week later app STILL shows no transaction history. Where is the REAL TIME crucial transaction detail a consumer MUST HAVE access to in order to budget themselves properly and most importantly monitor for fraudulent activity?!

I honestly I’m thinking of just closing out the account and going with Barclays Bank. If I don’t hear back from anyone on this forum or don’t get a reply regarding this review I will take my business elsewhere.
