Really need tags to work!
I already complained directly to the company via the "feedback" link in the app, but I figured putting it all here might help it along. I mentioned the need for monthly subscription and that a 24 hour trial is kind of ridiculous when marketing to people who have very little time to read. It looks like those issues are addressed frequently here already so that's good. But they offered me a longer trial and then also a discount for my first year so I subscribed after my trial. BUT I ALSO MENTIONED THAT TAGS DON'T WORK. They said they're working on it but I feel kind of silly for paying that much for an app that has a very important feature (to me) that doesn't even work. If these things were fixed I'd give the app 4-5 stars for sure.
24 hour trial is not sufficient
I gave the app a try and started listening to the audio version of the book. I listed to one chapter, before having to leave for a meeting. The one chapter was great. This is an interesting concept, and I really like the idea. However when I returned this morning to check it out further I was prompted to upgrade. My 24 hour trial had ended. 24 hour trial, really? This is marketed to people who are too busy to read, but yet don't give a proper trial period to fit that target audience. Doesn't make much sense at all. I understand that you can't give too long of a window or people will read a bunch of books for free and then ditch the app. But maybe you should consider a timer that only counts the time actually spent in the app.
Not enough books to make it worth it
Interesting concept but definitely not enough content to make it worth a monthly fee. I was almost able to read my entire list in the 24 hours they gave for free. I would have kept the free version because you can read one free book a day but they choose the book and none of the books they gave for free were ones I wanted to read. I would have to say that this app is something of a paradox ... if you love to read, like I do, you will definitely hate this app. If you hate to read you will probably find no use for it. I don't see this app staying around very long.
