Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Poke your friends to share fun moments or just say hello.
• Poke a friend with a message, photo or video
• Choose how long they can see it
• Press and hold to see pokes from friends
• Say where you are when you poke
• See when your friends take screenshots
Facebook COMPLETELY ripped off SnapChat. The least they could do was try and buy it out or something. It was uncourteous.
But... It is a nice app. It's definitely an improvement from SnapChat. It looks good and works well, I just have a few suggestions and problems.
•Not all of my friends are in my friends list.
•I'd rather have a video recorder where we could record as long as we want and then crop the segment we want to use.
•More functionality in the camera, such as flash and tap-to-focus.
•A sound that plays when a message is sent.
•If a notification pops up as you're looking at a picture, and you tap on it, it triggers the screenshot alert. If there's a workaround to that, that would be good. (Nearly got myself in trouble with that one.)
•Slide down to refresh. Please. That's a standard.
•I don't really understand what's up with the navigation bar at the top. I guess it's sorta neat, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
•Why is the icon white and the picture blue? Is there a reason it doesn't match the scheme of your other apps?
•Landscape photos? Have a message saying to flip the phone to view the picture. Especially for video. I HATE video in portrait mode.
Personal suggestion: I'd try and give SnapChat some credit somewhere. While you stole their idea completely, you did improve on it. Just make it work better.
Fun app, albeit not very original
Sure, this is app is *a lot* like snapshot, and perhaps it's a generational thing, but very few of my friends are on snapchat, and all of them are on Facebook. Compared to the other Facebook apps for iOS, this one is surprisingly quick and easy to use. I've been sending "pokes" (short videos) with my brother on the other side of the coast and I'm finding it's a really fun and way to share what's going on around us (boy, I miss NYC…)
-Minus one star for some confusing aspects and bugs:
-What the heck do these icons on the right side of the messages mean?
-When I play a video, my music stops, and then when the video is over I have to go back to the iPod app to restart my music. It should just continue to play the music.
-Had some initially receiving my first few pokes.
Better than SnapChat
I don't understand the reviews saying that its wrong for Facebook to just plain copy SnapChat with this. It's the nature of the business and I feel like Facebook pulls it off with a clearer, more stable app than SnapChat. It's quite nice to be able to send messages to my friends who don't have the app yet and have the Facebook app let them know so they can download it. One of the biggest problems I had with SnapChat was the lack of penetration with my friends. No one used it so I couldn't use it.
Bottom line, it's the same app. If you like SnapChat better, then use that. If you like Facebook better, use that. I don't think all the negative reviews are warranted.
