If you subscribe to Noom through the web, you can get information about your subscription or cancel by sending a message to Concierge Eva or your Goal Specialist.

If you subscribe through iTunes, the credit card associated with your iTunes account will be charged at the end of the 7-day trial period, and your subscription will automatically renew every 30 days thereafter unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current payment period. If you do not cancel, your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at a rate of $44.99 per month for our Healthy Weight Program or $89.99 per month for our Diabetes Prevention Program. If you purchase a subscription during the free trial period, any unused portion of the trial period will be forfeited.

App is so-so


I have been on the program for only three weeks so I’m not ready for a full review of that aspect. However the app itself is a bit hit or miss.
There seems to be no way to access your account information, not in the app and not on their website. I’m very unclear on when and how much I will be charged now that my trial period has ended.
The food logging is where this loses points for me. My biggest issue is the program pushes home cooking and unprocessed foods, however logging your own meals is a pain! You can “create a dish” but then you can’t scan ingredients from that screen. And it is difficult to find those meals again. There should be an easy to access and easy to edit file of all my created meals. Additionally, while I like the idea of the color coding, I find the database is unreliable about the color. For example, there may be several low fat cheeses listed and some are classified as yellow and others as red. Another issue when creating meals, it is difficult to know if you are entering in raw or cooked meat. When I’m creating a dish I need to log the raw weight of something. But when I’m at a restaurant I need to be able to log the cooked weight. The database does not always have a choice or it’s not clear which of those is listed (I.e. Ground Turkey).
These seem like basic food logging features that should be available in the app for a paid program.
I plan to submit another review addressing the program itself after I’m further along.

Very Impressed


So far I’ve really loved this program! It’s approachable and easy to use! And every goal is a small change that is easy to make and builds toward bigger changes. They address nutrition and psychology, the emotions behind the habits, tricks to change our habits, and work on making long term changes that stick! It’s about sustainable weight loss. And instead of feeling deprived, you learn to truly enjoy the foods you love without a guilt trip or punishing yourself.
I used to think “everything in moderation” was a brilliant idea but impossible and that I would never be capable of healthy moderation. I was making all healthy choices or all lousy choices and I thought those were my only realistic options. But this is the right tool to get there! It teaches you to enjoy things you like to eat without falling face first in a gallon of it. It’s everything you need to correct what was wrong with every other weight loss attempt of you life that didn’t work. This app is doing it right!
Healthy moderation, easy-to-follow nutrition, group support and inspiration, and insights into what emotions, choices, and habits need improvement to get from where we are to where we want to be. It’s just brilliant.

Ok at first


I really liked Noom at first: the articles were interesting and interactive, and I felt like I was really getting to learn how I think about food by setting goals and taking the quizzes. The food logging is a little annoying because there aren’t a whole lot of brand options: I often have to look things up and then manually add it myself, but that’s not awful. I hated the color system at first and the daily weigh ins, but they’ve become natural to me now, and don’t bother me at all.
Then it all went downhill. After about week 5, the articles went from interesting quizzes and interactive goal setting questions to bland two paragraph articles. There’s not even a way to check off that I read the article, so it doesn’t feel worth it to even bother with them. You’re supposed to have access to your goal coach always, but mine always takes about a day or two to get back to me, and her responses sound like a bot. The only thing that makes Noom at all worth the money is the group feature. I like my group mates- they’re really encouraging. But beyond that, this is an overly expensive calorie tracker, and I could’ve just used a free app for that.
The first few weeks are amazing, and then the app turns boring af, and definitely not worth the money spent.
