A lot to like
I'm using this app so far to play .avi files with .srt softsubs on our iPad 2 and ipad mini. It's clean, efficient & provides video controls (like gamma etc) just like the desktop versions. Wifi transfer is sufficient for uploading to iPad, but is too slow for my 300MB avi files. The wifi transfer interface on the PC is simple but needs polish (thus 4 stars only). Didn't want to install iTunes on my new PC, but a physical connection is faster. VLC in iTunes recognized and uploaded both .avi and .srt files. VLC in iPad doesn't list the srt files, but they show up automatically and can be turned off super easily. I really like the look of the app and it's functionality.
Worth the Wait!
Edit: Thanks for fixing the sound bug! Works beautifully again.
For so long I assumed this project was dead. I am ecstatic to see that it is not only alive, but re-written, re-designed, and better than ever!
For those of you who don't know, VLC is a media player that can play any type of media file you can throw at it. There is nothing like it. VLC has been the paragon of media players for so long, and will remain the best for a long, long time. This is why so many of us are so excited to see it get re-released for iOS.
I love this app
This app is great and I like how it is the only one that can play anime MKV subtitle correctly with the effects 👍 . I have two things I would like to have in VLC.
1- It would be great if you can you bring the subtitle down in the black bar.
2- If it's possible can you add the app to the ( open in ..) list when transferring a sub file from a downloader app ?
3-It would be convenient if you can add a gesture for pausing such as double tab .
Sorry for the long Comment😅 and thanks for this masterpiece😎
