Full of bugs, terrible app
I thought I would download some tv shows before a flight, VLC seemed like a logical choice. Downloads worked okay, but I'd rather watch them on my WiFi-only iPad. I tried to airdrop them over (I also have VLC for my iPad) only to find they mysteriously disappeared....great. During this process, I accidentally hit the trash-can icon instead of the share because of a bug that messed up the placement of the icons in the toolbar. No warning, no nothing, the first episode is quickly deleted seconds before I board my flight. Great. Next, I go to try another show I've excitedly preloaded onto my iPad...8 minutes into the episode, it just stops. No amount of restarting or messing with the playback fixed it. No warning while uploading it either :( please fix this VLC!
AC-3 & E-AC-3 Support!
This app is one of my absolute favorites. It solves so many issues and with many applications that can import files from a Mac/PC/Cloud and then send them directly to VLC, it really solves all my issues with iPad file Incompatibility.
I love the app and I appreciate the developers so much. If you love this free app please then consider donating money to the, VideoLAN Organization who makes this all possible. They work very hard to make free tools for the community. If this was any other developer their would be in-app purchases in every menu.
Apple Watch app just crashes
Can't be happy with this version as I'm unable to use the Apple Watch app because it opens, displays gray library buttons, the abruptly closed. Now that I'm interested in the Watch app I can't use it. Not to mention that on my iPad I'm unable to scroll my collection of 20 some off items in a folder. VLC is just about the saddest app I've ever encountered. Always, multiple items are broken, if not it just didn't support some item or another. For instance, AAC playback which was recently added, thank goodness. This time around so many other items are broken it really makes this app a pain to use overall.
