Not sure why I keep playing but I do
I got this app free from Starbucks and usually at least try the app even if it looks like I won't like it. I'm not sure how I got as far as I did in one sitting as the game is quite repetitive but I like the automatic restart if you don't make it to the end of the level and some of the more interesting ways to fail. The progression of difficulty seems about right so far and finding different ways to get the stars in levels where I don't get them all quickly keeps the levels I find more difficult interesting and reduces the frustration that makes me delete similar games quickly.
I got bored early on but kept playing for whatever reason. I guess I like the simplicity of the game while still being challenged. I'm easily bored and also easily amused. It's a cute little game for when you just want something mind numbing but you're actually thinking more than you realize as you solve the puzzles and discover that there is more than one solution.
It's not exactly the kind of game I would go looking for but it does hold my attention and has a sort of 80s nostalgia but without the annoying 8 bit music and the graphics are well done and still maintain that old-school feel. I'm surprised I like it since it's not exactly my thing but it's definitely fun to play.
It's a browser puzzle that you buy
This game reminds me of hundreds of browser-based physics puzzlers. The goal is to collect 3 stars and get to the end of the level using one or two signature mechanics that, in this case, have nothing to do with the theme of the game. The difference between this and BBPhPs, however, is that this game is even more repetitive and needs even more skill from the very beginning. Your timing has to be absolutely perfect, and some stars are in such odd places it's incredibly difficult to collect them. You can't launch yourself again from a different spot on the ground, and if you hang too long on a wooden gear or hit a bounce at too low an angle you've pretty much screwed yourself. I'm sure some people think this level of difficulty is great, or they're just really good at repetitive timing puzzles, but I quickly got bored and stopped doing well. Also, the "rate the app" thing that always pops up at the beginning is REALLY annoying.
Really Inventive Physics Puzzler!
I took a little longer than usual to play through Epic Eric quite a ways before coming here to "review" this humble, yet awesome little indie gem. I've played through two of the three worlds available (30 of 45 levels) and I must say I'm very happy with the play mechanics, level designs and the overall feel of the game.
I'm can tell this is THE game 232 Studios loved creating and I just get the feeling that they will continue supporting their beloved work well into the future.
I have no problem recommending this to anyone who reads the description or watches gameplay video and has even a passing interest in the game.
There is GameCenter integration however I've been in contact with 232 and they are working on a fix due to achievements not being active.
Now, on to what I would love to see added in the future =•D
1.) a level creater tool and online sharing. I'd pay for this as dlc..Epic Eric(a) is just begging for it
2.) a leaderboard for total actions used to complete each world. I'm a high-score chaser at heart a this would be a great way to implement a leader board.
