Fantastic story telling; sub par combat.

The way you use the book style to tell the story is fantastic. I feel like I'm actually reading a fantasy story but then I get to actually see the combat elements. However the combat is frustrating. Not only are you timed to make your actions, which makes me feel way too rushed for turn-based combat, but when fighting multiple enemies it is way to easy to lose half of your health before you're even given the ability to fight back. I just fought 2 Giaks; upon entering combat, the first one attacks me twice, taking about 10-15% of my health. The second also attacks twice, now I'm down to about 75% health. Just when my action bar is almost full and ready for me to attack, one of the Giaks throws a stone at my head and stuns me. Now my action bar is empty again while I'm forced to sit through even more of their onslaught. I'm finally given the ability to attack when I have about 30% of my overall health remaining. What "amuses" me even more is that even with a shield in my hand, I still just continue to stand there and take a sword to the face. You have a shield! BLOCK!
And lock picking needs work. Based on the hint, I assumed it would be like Skyrim. After moving picks to every possible angle, not one time did the lock turn any more than the last.

I'll continue to play around with it, maybe I just haven't gotten the hang of it yet.

Amazing game. Makes me really want to buy all acts.

So, ppl are complaining about combat, and initially it is hard. However once you understand how it works, it becomes easy.

There are four attacks. It will either consume either blue or green bar. The most powerful attack is on top. Use it in beginning quickly and it depletes your blue bar and kills one enemy. Then you are left with sword or arrow attack on right and left. Mostly i keep use the sword attacks until it depletes my green bar, or my turn ends, which is until yellow bar is depleted. The sword menu also has a defend ability which you should use at the end of turn and it also has a ability to stun enemies. You can also use your magic ability on bottom and one of the abilities restores your Heath if you have some blue bar left.

One important thing is that you can adjust your inventory in menu! Just look around. I would say experiment and if you die you just start over or you can go back make different choices.

It is one of best games I have played because it keeps you on you toes.

Almost perfect

I never take my time to write a review but there is a first for everything because this game deserves it. I read all the reviews before I downloaded it and was worried about the battles. All I can say is that if you can't figure out how to use weapons, timing, Kai power and combinations then you should stick to candy crush. Yes this is hard but that is what it is suppose to be. It takes time and skill. Frankly if the battles were easier I would not enjoy the game as much
The story telling is amazing the graphic are great. I almost could not ask for anything more

Improvements I would say more dire consequence for making bad decisions

The ability to find better weapons like a more powerful sword.

The ability to change the character more to personalize it better would be cool

Not to happy with the lock picking it could be improved

Make battles harder by adding more enmities and different kinds maybe some with different skill sets as well so that attacks have to be more thought out

Overall this game is mind blowing and I can not wait for the next chapter
