See why people love IXL

“Thanks to IXL, our students' performance has increased dramatically. Because they practice the skills daily, and because the site provides feedback, students are able to correct their mistakes and master the concepts easily.” - Waleska Batista, teacher, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, U.S.A.

“My favourite feature of IXL is that if you get a question wrong IXL will tell you how to solve it and what you did wrong. Another thing I really enjoy is that IXL provides awards and progress reports showing how you do over time. I think these two things are very effective because they make the student feel like they are actually studying and not wasting time.” - Student, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

“This program takes the frustration out of math because it allows the student to practice at his/her own pace and stay focused. It's okay if you mark one wrong because another one will be waiting. This is a great tool to have.” - Parent of a 4th grader, California, U.S.A.

“We like the rewards and certificates; our children work very hard to receive these! The reports are also brilliant in keeping us informed of the levels our children have reached and where they need extra help.” - Parent, Coolah, NSW, Australia

“My students are improving by the day, and some even stay in for recess to work on IXL!” - Helm Jackson, 5th grade teacher, Redmond, Washington, U.S.A.

Could have been more...

IXL has many worlds with a variety of difficulties, the side quest of collecting pictures is boring, as you need to go through the main quest to do it anyway. While their is some good enemy variety, the boss rush section is just the same enemies but a little harder. Your character can be anything from a fish to a soccer ball, which gives the world a wacky feel, but the lack of memorable locales don’t deliver on that wackyness that the characters give off. Lack of any memorable music tracks, and the level design is uncreative, just enemy after enemy. There isn’t any reward for beating levels, other than the pictures, you don’t get stronger or level up either, making the game just as slow at the end as it was in the beginning. The enemy variety offers good replay value for the levels. The game could be very forgiving telling you what you did wrong if you fail, and the harder difficulty you have, the more the game punishes you for failing but still teaches you that levels mechanics. Sometimes the levels were a great big slog, as eventually I didn’t feel like losing to the same enemies over and over, and if you fail too much in the boss rush section, you can be sent back to standard enemies, and go as far back as the beginning of the level, there isn’t any difficulty spikes, as the game is an open world, letting you choose your own path. Overall, IXL had a lot of promise that the developers didn’t deliver.

Does IXL NEED to be a app?

Hey, I’m not a real big fan of IXL. In fact, it’s so horrible, I would give it negative 5 stars if I could. Every time I try a level, I end up getting like, “yay! I am at 99 points and the total is 100!” But then you get the last question wrong so I’m back at 81 points! The hate it when that happens. Plus, if people hate it so much, then would you be playing when your at calculus? Because there is a ENTIRE column for that stupid thing! And in one column there are about a million levels. Plus, you know how in the 3rd grade levels the limit is 31 questions? And if a question is wrong it COUNTS as a question? Well, I learned it the hard way because once I had so many questions wrong, that I had 69 questions before. And please, just please with raspberry on top, FIX IXL!!!

P.S. the point: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH IXL❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️
P.S # 2 the worst/stupidest/dumbest app EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I added this in my review: once it took me 5 hours for 1 level and it took, well, guess what? 122 questions.

The best app for children of all ages even adults

I am a mom to a 17yr old Highschool senior and a 10year old 5th grader. My youngest has ADHD,aspergers, sensory disorder, he only started speaking when he was 3years old and did speech therapy for 2years. He had to play catch up when we moved from Africa to the U.S as he was behind for his age. Along with home schooling and IXL he has gotten all the help that he needs on a daily basis. We are able to review material given in class and he has so much fun. He has been on the honor roll for the last 2 years and is doing amazing. Thank you to the people who created this tool, it is a lifesaver and it also keeps children like my son with short attention span engaged and excited to finish so that they can their prize.
