- Fixed: Possible crash when swiping left in the article viewer to open the browser
- Fixed: In-app browser layout issues
Have you ever used another newsreader? If so, you know how much faster it is to comb through 2000 new posts when you have thumbnails to look at. The sole newsreader without even the option to turn on thumbnails? Reeder. As beautiful as it is, staring at a list of text and favicons doesn't allow me to skip posts quickly based on their hero image, and that's crucial. The author of this otherwise fine app seems to have a philosophical grudge against such imagery, so I'm forced to use a less pretty, but much more usable RSS reader. Posting this here is like shouting into the wind, but I always hope the author will see the light.
There is a very critical flaw, it's way too easy to accidentally mark everything as read and no way to undo that! While reading at night I accidentally long pressed and BAM hundreds of articles I saved were marked read and gone. No way to revert. All my saved articles lost. Very very upset about this. Who even uses this gesture anyways, who batch reads everything above/below an article? I've never once wanted to do that. This should be removed.
UPDATE: Just happened again. Absolutely infuriating!!! 😡😡😡😡😡
Additionally it is just sad it doesn't have any VoiceOver support whatsoever. I shouldn't need perfect vision in order to catch up on the news.
Absolutely love this app and developer!!!
I've been using reeder for more years than I can remember. Both on iOS and Mac. Love the gestures. Love the look and feel. Love the fairly frequent(ish) updates. And nice that this major update was free! Though honestly, I would have bought it again anyhow. 5 bucks is nothing for an app I use every single day (that's just a cup of decent joe).
