Beautiful port - and the free-to-pay is done well
The porting job done here is fabulous - it's a pixel perfect port of Runner2. Certain things, like the staircases, are made easier on here because they would be much more difficult with the touchscreen controls, but I don't understand why people see this as a bad thing - if anything, it proves how much Gaijin put into this port to make it really good and easy to get into. The in-app purchases are really well done, too - all of the content aside from the main storyline is locked with gold instead of "key paths" or whatever, and gold can either be earned at a decent rate from the levels or bought in large booster packs. I'm only writing this review because I think this game needs a lot more attention so that Gaijin will update it - it's missing the last two areas! If you've completed the Supernature, you can watch the Mounting Sadds' intro cutscene in the Videos section; they were intending to add it, but the app apparently never got enough attention or following. Either that or they are having a really bad time porting the levels, but I doubt it - I only found this amazing port by sheer luck. If anybody who plays games reads this, DOWNLOAD THIS APP! And if Gaijin reads this, ADD THE LAST TWO AREAS! Please :/
Not a perfect port!
When I first heard about the Iowa sport of the trip run or two, I was quite excited. When I received this iPod touch for Christmas, I decided to invest in this application. It turns out that, despite all of the huge comments saying that it is a perfect pork, this game lacks many of the features of the trip run or two. For instance, there's auto jumps and auto springs. This takes out so the difficulty. What were they thinking? This is ridiculous that they would have that. As well, there are things such as The controls, which make me rage that when I begin a slide I have to type it correctly, otherwise it will make me on slide one underneath an object. Kaman engaged to games! This is lazy to take out so much inputted into it I Westporte! iOS can handle it! Make this game more like the computer version! Will update my review once this improves. This review was done using voice recognition.
Really shines on the 6 Plus just make sure to switch to the alternate controls
As a huge fan of this game on consoles I was curious how this could work on iOS and the answer is brilliantly the presentation, graphics, fluid framerate and addicting rhythmic gameplay are all intact, the biggest problem however is that the swipe controls feel like they're going to work fine until you get to the first boss which requires split second inputs between jumping and sliding which swipe controls simply can't handle luckily the touch panel scheme works out perfectly especially on the Plus' bigger screen feeling just as responsive if not more so than playing on a controller.
