Could have been great
The stabilization and everything is cool, and I like how easy it is to use, but when the storage on my device is almost full, that's when I MOST need whatever recording app I'm using to NOT delete everything I had recorded up to that point. I had recorded a really beautiful section of a train ride I was taking, My arm was getting tired from holding my ipad so long, but I wanted to get the whole thing recorded, all of a sudden the notification pops up that my storage is almost full. I close the notification only to find that the app has frozen. I give it some time in hopes that it'll figure itself out, but all it does is switch to selfie mode and I lose my entire recording.
Awesome App!!!
Compared to iOS 8's new time lapse camera mode, this app is amazing. The smoothness of the sped-up-video is so much better than any time other technique and it even looks just as good as the time lapse shots you see in a movie.
The reason I did not give Hyperlapse 4 stars is because when you keep your iDevice completely still (on a stand especially), the final video has a weird circular motion that makes the watcher sort of dizzy. I noticed this when trying to record a timelapsed sunset while stationary.
Good concept, buggy
When it works, it's pretty great. Awesome quality and stabilization. I want to like the app but I've now lost an hour of footage twice while using this app.
The first happened when I swiped open control center during recording. After closing control center the app UI looked completely normal and said it was still recording. After stopping recording I could only get the footage from before opening control center.
The second time was when I left it recording long enough to give me a out of memory error. The UI then became unresponsive and the footage was u retrievable even after freeing up space. I had 2.5GB free before recording.
