Shred lute and collect loot in the critically acclaimed action-rpg Bardbarian!

In BARDBARIAN you play as Brad the Barbarian, who is (once again) awoken to the sounds of his town under siege. Today is no ordinary day though; Brad has grown tired of fighting. The XP grind has grown dull, and his heart beats with a musical bloodlust. Crafting a magic lute out of an old war axe, he steps outside...

Use your magical axe-lute to summon followers to fight for you. Navigate your party through the hordes of enemies, dodging and attacking, preventing them from destroying your town's prized decorative crystal. Survive waves to progress, collect loot, and unlock new units.

Upon death you are able to visit the town shop in order to upgrade Brad, the town and your followers, in hopes to make it further next time. Over 75 different upgrades are available, plus a total of 12 unlockable units.

Finished story mode? Play Endless and Survival modes for some fun, fast and competitive gameplay variety, set your best scores, collect achievements and challenge your friends via GameCenter integration.

Fantastically Fun

This is a wildly entertaining game that is highly addictive, as other reviews state. It also feels very much overly grindy, as other reviews state. This leads to frustrating repetition cycles where you grind 5-6 waves in, knowing you're going to be blasted, and unable to experience anything new until you've done the 8 minute cycle several times. That said, every time I decide there's no way I want to do it again, I keep coming back. One painful grudge, though: grinding just to get the pet leveled up stinks. It really spoils the experience to feel like I have to grind 4-6 times just to enable something that feels like it should have been part of my experience from the start.

Can't say enough good things about this game

First, buy the double axe and ignore the other IAP. The game is worth $3.

Great music. Amazing art. Really innovative gameplay. Two additional game modes that are ACTUALLY different from the campaign. An endless wave mode after the campaign. Insane mode. And awesome unlockables.

100% both difficulty modes on Steam. Bought for friends. Doing it again now.

So far not bad

This is a new twist on an old style. It works.
To me, the ads are mildly annoying and the guilt trip they try is silly.
Play is entertaining.
It does bother me that iPod 4 isn't supported...I just upgraded to 5 because I accidentally broke my older one, but the graphics on this don't seem like they should require the power.
So does this mean if I am unable to buy a 6 when it comes out this one is obsolete already? I think not. I think developers will just lose customers in their lack of support for what is already out there.
If it gets bad enough, I'll just game on my Vita. It's already getting there with all the forced in-app purchase craze going on.
