Great game but I want to play with friends :(
Overall, Peak is really fun and challenging. You can access a lot with the free version, and it reminds me a lot of Luminosity except that you get more features and games for free. I like that every day’s workout is different; this keeps things fresh and engaging. I have 2 changes I'd like to see though. My main criticism is that the only way to play with friends is through Facebook. I wish there were other ways to invite people through texting a special invite link or email for those of us who don't use social media (or want to invite those who don't use social media). My other suggestion is to have a way to easily see which areas I'm working on. I'm pretty sure that there is an area (e.g., emotion) that isn't coming up that I opted in to working on and there's no way for me to confirm. I know this is a lot of constructive criticism, but I really am enjoying the game, and if these issues were resolved, I could even see possibly upgrading to Peak Pro. Keep the improvements coming!
Ok, needs updating
Pro is worth it, games are mostly enjoyable and seem helpful. Content needs expanding however. Castle Block puzzles are the same every time. Seems like there are about 5 or 6 and I've mostly memorized the solutions. I'm at Grand Master level for Word Alike, and again the same 20 or 25 words over and over again. C'mon guys get a little creative. Oh...I and everybody I know absolutely DESPISES Pixel Logic. Minus 2 star until you delete this trash.
And scoring: bad. No benefit for moving up in rank. Tried to explain to support team but they don't get it. Here's my example: Kid in little league a great hitter, batting .750. Major league player: league is tougher he's only batting .500. According to peak the little leaguer is a better player. Who cares that the other guy is in the majors. That's peaks scoring system. No benefit for being in a tougher league.
Great tool to improve cognitive skills
I have attention and focus issues SQUIRREL and this app has helped me improve those cognitive skills. I've also noticed improvements in memory, impulse control, and patience. The reason for the improvements is the way Peak games are presented. Each game's start page lists its benefits, making it possible for me to reflect on how the skills I practiced during the game could be applied to real-world situations. I've also learned a lot about performance, learning, failure, and success, which have been very helpful in my teaching practice. I've considered signing up some of my students with special needs, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll keep using Peak as long as I can.
