I am disappointed to say the least. When it works it is great, but it constantly freezes, or crashes. It always skips and starts over like a scratched record. About every other day I have to uninstall, then reinstall it so it even works. Otherwise the wheel just spins and nothing happens. Not sure if this is an iOS issue or just a sling tv issue, but I know my trial week I had no issues whatsoever. For something you pay monthly for it should work, you know they won't reimburse you for the many times it doesn't work. Also, for the channels you have you don't get to watch much, it is the same things over and over. I know with other services you at least get to watch what is on and not what they offer you. This isn't true for all the channels, some are up to date and actual time, but some are not and only offer the same things day after day, even the same episodes. This is a great idea and I've been waiting a long time for something like this, now please work out the bugs, make it work, and make it worth my while and my money.
Despite having a top of the line AC router and 200 Mbps connection, Sling rendered a blurry, jerky, freezing picture that was offensive to my eyes and common sense. Why on earth would I pay for such poor quality?
I had already had a free trial many months ago and wasn't impressed. I had heard the service improved. Giving it a second try was a huge mistake.
Called customer service. Got some tech support folks that did their best to fix the situation. Nothing worked. Since I was only a few hours into my paid subscription, I called support back asking for a refund. A smug and arrogant customer service rep said this is a prepaid service and they don't refund.
I humored him and ended the call with every intention to getting my money back.
Called support again and told them this is the last time I going to ask nicely, but give me my money back and now. I've only had this for a few hours and it's unwatchable. If they don't give me back my money I will file a complaint with the BBB, FCC, and the Department of Consumer Affairs.
The representative was very empathetic and helpful and did refund me. So it's possible to get a refund, you just have to be firm in your resolve and persistent. Don't tolerate throwing away money on subpar service. You deserve a quality product that works.
Right now, it's just unwatchable. Horrible, horrible service.
Why all the hate?!?!
Seriously?! This app is flawless. Sure, it's not that pretty. No flashy graphics or pretty colors. It gets the job done and that's all that matters. It loads super fast and starts playing almost instantly with no hiccups or lag. Who cares if it doesn't look pretty.
People keep complaining about how it stops playing, stutters, lags, or just drops out. I am willing to bet that these people who are making these terrible reviews don't know a lot about how internet, speeds, lag, and general networking all play a part on how well you can stream video content.
I have a 15/1 connection through TWC and it handles SlingTV just fine and it handles my Netflix just fine also. I have had SlingTV for just over 2 months now and never had one issue that wasn't related to my own connection dropping out which has happened maybe twice.
Not saying SlingTV is perfect but I think a lot of these reviewers might not be looking at the client and ISP side of things and are instead just instantly blaming SlingTV for the connection issues.
