SmartCalc is the most beautiful, intuitive calculator available for iOS. Finally, there's a calculator that lives up to modern smart-phone design.
• See the entire calculation as you type
• Quickly access your calculation history
• Access all the functions you need with just the tap of a button - no more flipping your device back and forth
• Press and hold any function or operator key to apply it to the entire current expression
• Copy expressions, solutions, or entire calculations to use anywhere on your device
• Edit previously calculated expressions
• Quickly fix mistakes with the backspace key
• Easily switch between radian and degree mode
• Calculate tips with the built-in tip calculator
We're back with another update!
We redesigned the tip calculator and made a lot of small improvements that we think make SmartCalc even more seamless and intuitive.
We also made a few bigger changes based on feedback from our fantastic users!
Now, instead of tapping an expression or calculation to bring up the copy menu, you need to press and hold to bring up the copy menu. This change makes it a lot harder to accidentally open the copy menu when trying to pull down your history.
We also added a new option to the copy menu. Or should we say, edit/copy menu! You can now select "Edit Expression" on any previous calculation to move the expression back into the edit window.
We also changed how you backspace (yes, you could backspace before, but it wasn't very clear, so we fixed that!). Now, instead of swiping left on the current expression to backspace, there is a backspace button, and "floor", "round", and "ceil" have been moved to the function half of the calculator (accessible using the "2nd" key).
And last, but certainly not least, if you press and hold any function or operator key, SmartCalc will apply it to the entire current expression.
For example, if you enter "2+2", then press and hold "x", SmartCalc will display "(2+2)x".
Or, if you enter "3x4", then press and hold "ln", SmartCalc will display "ln(3x4)".
A long form example of this would be:
"2+2", press and hold "x", "5", press and hold "ln" gives you "ln((2+2)x5)".
We hope you enjoy the update! If you ever have any suggestions or feedback, please feel free to contact us at any time. And as always, if you enjoy SmartCalc and have a few moments of free time, we greatly appreciate any reviews. Thanks!
Ratings and Reviews
Much better than Apple calculator
Just the history function alone makes this calculator 10x better than the standard Apple one, and the design is beautiful, also the "percentage" key is actually a modulus key which uses the same symbol but serves a different function, so disregard the other reviews it works exactly as it should.
Best Calculator on iOS
Not only is this app beautiful, it's also highly functional. After searching through what must have been 20 calculators, I was ecstatic to discover this one. The developers are also very friendly and responsive, incorporating several suggestions into the app. I highly recommend this calculator!
Great calculator but please fix the percentage error
This is a calculator I looked for a long time. It has a very nice design. However, can I you fix the error of %. It shows error when ever I use this button. Thank you again for the app.
Thank you for your review and your constructive feedback - we greatly appreciate it. The % key is meant to to be a modulus key, not a percentage key. We tried our best to make that clear by having the calculator output "mod" after pressing the % key instead of "%," so we apologize that this has been a source of confusion for some users. Because it isn't a percentage key, using it like a percentage key will generally result in the calculator displaying "error" (as it should). We hope that clears it up for you - sorry again for the confusion.
