Super PhotoCut 4+

ANOTHER UPDATE ... DITTO ... still pleased with this app for what it does

ANOTHER UPDATE: Seems to have improved. And my previous commendations still hold true. This is my update after more use. I still believe that Super PhotoCut is a very good app but not worthy of five stars. i did have some difficulty with it not being able to hande some jpg files. Either was not able to process or cut just the opposite of what I wanted. i will still use this app often; just more limited. Sorry. Using it sometimes you are wowed; other times not so much.

I am a teacher/communicator, and I illustrate my study sheets every week. Heavy on the graphics. Super PhotoCut is an excellent find. I just began using; have actually tested the app with several graphics and am surprisingly, pleasantly pleased with the outcome. Wow is probably not overstating. I was only going to give the app four stars so the developer would have something to shoot for but really it is an immediately useful tool in my graphics pouch. I have other apps that can remove objects, but none work like this. And nothing comes remotely close to the speed and ease of use. Just the frame tool will often completely clear the background. The fine-tune tools are very good also. I use this primarily to isolate graphics so I can set them on whatever background I choose. So glad I came across this on two dollar tuesday. :) And the real-time (play-by-play) window is excellent. Huge time saver.

Worth it

For years, I have struggled using other programs to perform simple tasks involving photocutting. I could not find the necessary tools with Microsoft office programs. Photoshop was too advance for someone who needs this a few times a year. I literally downloaded this producted, watched the tutorial and was cutting pictures in 5 minutes. Last year, some of the same photo edits would have taken me hours. I’m sure there are many quality photocutting tools available. However, I will never be an editor or programmer, so this program caters to people like me- barely proficient with the current technology.

I really like this app

I finally found an easy app for removing busy backgrounds and found an added bonus. I’ve been using Instant Alpha in Preview & Pages which works fine for plain backgrounds but doesn’t work very well with either busy backgrounds or keeing the same or similar color in what I want to save. I haven’t had much luck with Lasso/Super Lasso. One feature I love is that it magnifies the image and you can mark a white you want to keep from a white that you want removed. I also like that I can make the background black & white while keeping the main image in color or I can blur the background while keeping the main object in sharp focus. I can use the existing background or drop in something else and still play with the visuals. I’m still learning but this was worth every penny in my opinion. I also save some images in PNG and then transfer them to Pages Layout to add layers and or text.
