Your App needs a lot of work
I've been paying for this app for a year and a half. I just can't take it no more. $15 a month for this is just ridiculous, it doesn't work 90% of the time. Wifi or data doesn't seem to matter. Upon opening the app, takes forever to load and titles, let alone a movie I would like to watch. When it finally does load, start watching and with in the first 30 seconds it is already buffering. I know it is not my wifi or my data. I have no issues with any other paid apps, that I use to watch movies. So that tells me it is HBO. HBO needs to seriously put forth a lot more effort into this app. 5 updates this past year of service and it never fixes a dam thing. You guys are horrible, and really need to hire some good help that gives a dam. One fed up customer right here and will not recommend this app to anyone one. Save your money and spend it else where. I must be a fool for hoping they would fix the issues and kept paying for it. Lesson learned the long hard way. Heave my advice and spend else where.
The playback on my MacBook is simply awful. The video will freeze while the audio keeps going, then it will backtrack & play the audio from a few seconds ago until it catches up with the video freeze, then it will start synced again and work for maybe another 30 seconds to a minute before happening all over again. This also happens on HBOGO, though not as frequently. It never happens on Netflix. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps suggested to no avail. I have 5 GHz wifi with nothing else using it while I try to stream HBONOW. What a dissappointment. If this is what happens at 2am on a week day... I can't imagine how painful GoT viewing will be Sunday night. Not to mention, the subscription process is so convoluted. Please offer a viable solution for peolpe who don't want cable TV. Something that can stream on Apple TV, other devices AND laptops & desktops. People willing to pay are downloading content illegaly just because of how awful this service is.
App and Apple TV app have bad user experience
For starters the mobile app never seems to properly reload my "currently watching." It shows that I have nothing on currently watching when I know I have been watching multiple shows through the last few weeks. Also the adding stuff to my watchlist is such a drag, I have to add each episode manually. I should be able to add an entire season or series at one click. This goes for both the Apple TV and mobile apps. And I should be able to see "my shows" to get back to them rather than having to always go to "series" and search for my show and search for the episode I'm on. For the amount of money I pay for the service the app should be more user friendly! Other than that the videos work well and runs smooth. Can't give it 5 stars until it's way more user friendly.
