The power of IFTTT is not just that it can notify you in certain things happen, but also how many ways they can do so. With so many channels to work with, not only was I able to set up notifications for fun things, but also notifications that keep me informed, productive, and safe. Many of the things I use this app for I would hear about on the evening news, instead I made aware of the event as it is happening. This is especially convenient for extreme weather alerts and issues that would impact my commute. This app also keeps me aware of things I would not have time to look up each day, but instead it sends me an update to my inbox each morning. It's like having a second brain, when they can watch different variables and take care of different problem you focus on your primary objectives.
Great idea, not quite there.
I was super excited about this app. I am kind of an organizational junkie, and loved the idea of having all my apps/accounts (Tumblr, Facebook, etc) archived in one place. I chose that one place to be Evernote, and honestly, that may have just been my mistake. It is extraordinarily difficult to get Tumblr and Instagram posts/likes to save correctly to Evernote. There is either a URL where there should be a picture in an image note, or no note content at all. Maybe I'm missing something in the recipe creation process? Even so, the app has stressed me out more than it has helped, so I think I'll delete it and try something else. Great idea though, and very useful for archiving to Google Drive or Dropbox!
Very useful app, almost there.
It's a great app, solid! I have four dozen simple recipes that save me time on a daily basis. But just as often I wish it did more. Even adding just a couple of simple time/calendar-based restrictions would improve usability dramatically. E.g.: tell wife I'm on my way when I leave work _between 4pm and midnight, Mon thru Fri_. (So she doesn't have to wonder why I'm heading home so early when in fact I'm just going out for lunch.)
