Description

Gout is an inflammatory arthritis triggered by uric acid crystals. It most commonly presents with a sudden swelling, redness and intense pain of the big toe (usually call podagra). Historically, it was considered a “royal” disease since it occurred most frequently in royalty who could afford all the foods that we now know can precipitate or worsen gout.

This app is intended as a general reference for primary care providers about gout and its management. In addition to factual information, the app includes clinical, radiological and microscopic images as well as interactive case discussion and self-assessment questions. Medications of choice are listed and are linked to PDR.

Requires iOS 4.0 or higher

Customer Reviews

My review

It didn't have a review, so I gave it one... It's actually a great resource. I wish it presented what patients can do as part of their diet or a list of good and bad foods for gout.
