Compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch (with microphone attachment)
Requires standard set of earbuds
Requires iPhone 2.2 Software

This application has been brought to you in association with MagTownTech.

What's New in Version 1.02

Minor bug tweaks. Added larger touch control areas for the various buttons in the app.

To get the best usage out of this application, you need to use a headset that does not have a built-in microphone. Otherwise, you will only be able to amplify the sound that comes from that mic vs. the built-in directional mic that is in the iPhone. iPod Touch users will need to point their microphone in the direction of the audio source.

Super application for the hard of hearing.

I have been begging Apple and the developers for this app for over two years. What took so long? Yea Crew! Now I can actually get rid of my hearing aids. The only problem I found in using this app is wind noise and that is attributable to the ear buds. Now I will be looking for better ear buds. This app was tested with my 3Gs phone and also my iPod Touch. Both worked perfectly after a bit of fiddling. The phone must be turned all the way off and back on again for this app to work properly. I am very hard of hearing and found that with the Apple ear buds (that have the mic) I only needed volume at 15%. Peripheral noise is also reduced and that enables more clear hearing. I have 2 sets of hearing aids that I paid $4500 each for. I could have saved that $9000 if this app had come 2 years sooner. Even though the 3Gs iPhone has a mike, using my iPod Touch ear buds (without a mic) would not work, this requires the earbuds with a mic. Many thanks to the developers who finally came through with this app. This app easily pays my ATT bill for 24 months and my new 3Gs phone.

Waste of $2.99

Wouldn't feel so bad if this app was $.99. That said this $2.99 app had no initial instructions on using it and unclear "retro" status lights. (just make it look like a good modern iPhone app!) I finally understood that the dim mute light was on, but when I turned it off my amplification was at max, my iPhone volume at max, and my in-ear headphones snuggly in my canals. The sounds that came out of my headphones sounded like death and could be heard a block away. My ears hurt, my $150 headphones sound crackly, and I have a massive headache. WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO HEAR SOMETHING THAT LOUD?! Adjust your ranges my god. The lowest possible setting should be the max.

That all said, DO NOT BUY unless the price changes or the app adds some sort of noise/wind cancelation.

Also on my iPhone 4, the app only picked up the mic on my headphones which constantly brushed my shirt and made extremely loud noises. This might just be a problem with the new OS/phone though.

Hearing Aid at a cheap price

I never write reviews, but this app works great. I have some hearing loss and needed some sort of hearing aid. I was thing maybe the magical iPhone could do this with the right app. I was right this app is all I need and for only .99 cents. It works in realtime has a great sound boost. I as a hearing limited person can use this to improve my hearing.

Thank you to the developers and apple for making such a versatile phone.
