Instagram is a simple way to capture and share the world’s moments. Follow your friends and family to see what they’re up to, and discover accounts from all over the world that are sharing things you love. Join the community of over 500 million people and express yourself by sharing all the moments of your day––the highlights and everything in between, too.

Use Instagram to:

* Post photos and videos you want to keep on your profile grid. Edit them with filters and creative tools and combine multiple clips into one video.
* Share multiple photos and videos (as many as you want!) to your story. Bring them to life with text and drawing tools. They disappear after 24 hours and won't appear on your profile grid or in feed.
* Go live to connect with your friends and followers right now. When you're done, live stories disappear.
* Send disappearing photos and videos, text messages and posts from your feed to groups and friends with Instagram Direct.
* Watch stories and live videos from the people you follow in a bar at the top of your feed.
* Discover stories, photos and videos you might like and follow new accounts on the Explore tab.
* Enable Handoff to switch between your Apple Watch and your iPhone.

Give me options, or give me death.

I've had Instagram for going on 6 years. The idea is great, all of my friends have it, and the layout is easy to use. What I don't like about it all has to do with your feed. If I'm scrolling and see something that makes me want to go to another app (let's say I'm checking if a news headline is real or fake), they when you go back to Instagram it starts you at the beginning, even if you've been on another app for less than a minute. This is becoming irksome. Another issue is with how the app puts photos on your feed. It chooses what it thinks you would prefer to see, rather than by when it was uploaded (Side effect: your feed is much shorter because you don't get to see everything). Now, I'm not asking to get rid of the current way of choosing photos, I'm asking for an option to see things by when they are posted, like it used to be. The current system works on Facebook because we may be socially obliged to friend your best friend's Aunt Betty on Facebook, but you are not held to the same standards on Instagram. My point: I follow people on Instagram because I want to see their photos, not because I want a computer to only show me the ones I want to see most (it is often wrong). To summarize, I would like to make sure the feed doesn't reset when you leave the app (maybe have it reset after 5 minutes?) and to give us the option of how our feed is presented (aka the algorithm vs. chronologically (the way it used to be)).

I think it's a good app but everytime or sometimes when I post a picture or something I spam... spamming is not very nice and I spammed one of my cousins so I got mad and sad at the same time until I talked to my other cousin who made me feel better. I think it should be a little better but it's still in the 50/50's (100% instagram is awesome because of the amazing people on instagram) spamming: send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the internet.

I don't want to make the person mad if I spam them it would lead to a problem that you would try to fix.... the app is fine and sometimes people get annoying or inappropriate which I think is bad and not ok. Sometimes on instagram can lead to problems or drama (you know what happens on social media if you have ever experienced it) and I don't want to ask for too much but maybe I am... this is just what I was thinking about how social media is... people hack in and that is bad they should not do that. I still accept social media but now I think what is the point in having it if your going to cause problems, being annoying, spam, hack and etc... on the social media sites...???? We will never know. I like social media but sometimes I don't.

Horrible app, somehow still using it...

So I've been using instagram for a few years now, and the main idea of it works fine. You share some photos and videos, and look at posts by other people. However ever since Facebook bought Insta it's been going downhill. It's almost like they don't know what they want it to be anymore. Instagram definitely used to be better, but it was never really great for sharing photos. There isn't even a way to upload from the website, and the photo quality is pretty bad once you upload it. But at least the pictures were pretty good. The community is completely awful now, most of the pictures are just of food and selfies with tons of ugly filters put over it and the saturation and sharpness turned all the way up. Then they added stories... Blatantly copying snapchat, and admitting to it. So now we have an app that wants to be a social media platform for sharing photos (which it fails at) and also wants to be like snapchat, which is pretty much the opposite of instagram. And there lies the problem with instagram. I can get past the ugly new interface, I don't even think the new algorithm is all that bad. Over all I would actually say as social media it does ok, I just personally don't like it. Also if you're one of those people who turns up all the effects plz stop, it doesn't look artsy or anything it just looks like someone vomited ms-paint colors all over a photo.
