For being free this app is more than great
I can't complain much since this app is free and definitely beats a lot of the paid equivalents in ease of use. My only complains are that when I use the keyboard shortcut, the app comes to the forground and wont go away until I quit it (closing the translation window doesn't close the app). Also the HUD window showing the translation doesn't resize to fit content. I'd pay to see a menu bar version of this app where I can hit the keyboard shortcut, see the translation in a menu-bar popover, which goes away as soon as it looses focus. Also, I often find myself typing into random places just so I can use the app to translate, it'd be great to instead be able to click a menu-bar icon and start typing to get a translation.
Thank you Robert for providing a clean fully functional translation app! You're making my days in Sweden that much easier. :)
Not bad for a free translation tool!
For the most part, this tool is incredibly handy. However, there are a lot of cases where words (or parts of words) either aren't translated at all, or aren't correctly translated--I see this mostly with Asian languages and Arabic. Spacing and punctuation can completely change what translation you receive, too. Otherwise, though, not bad for just getting the gist of what's being written.
I am so happy I found this! Thanks to this app I was able to translate the policy documents I needed for my Romanian mental health policy paper. It would be even better if it worked with Evernote, but other than that, it's great.
