★★★ NEWS ★★★
Unfortunately it is no longer possible to create Backpack Accounts. We believe they will shut down the service.
If you don't have already a backpack account you won't be able to use this app. We are very sorry.
Later is the fastest and simplest way to set a reminder to Backpack®.
*** Jason Fried uses it, too: http://bit.ly/iAE2Wb ***
What you can do: set a reminder fast!
✔ because you are short on time
✔ because you are on the road
✔ because you are in a meeting
✔ because you just love to push that green button
Later is not about what it does. It's about what it NOT does:
✘ less features, less options help you to achieve your goal faster
✘ no option to set exact times
✘ only 1 screen app (after login) starts up faster and gets you to leave faster
✘ no other people. reminders are always just for you
✘ no snooze. setting another reminder is faster.
✘ no overview, no management of all reminders. just set your reminder, clean up later.
Later puts back the fun in reminders ;)
*** IMPORTANT ***
To use Later you need a Backpack account!
Use the perfect reminder system from Backpack for free. Just use this link to create an account in minutes and get reminders send to your email account and sms directly on your phone. (And enjoy some other nice features, too.)
You can create it for free here:
I use this app everyday. Could this app use some improvement? You bet.
It needs a means of bringing up a history of the last 10 reminders you entered.
It needs additional time options so you can set the exact number of days into the future.
And yes it needs a clear button.
Easy to use
Very easy to use app. Only improvements I recommend are: when you want to type a new reminder you have to manually delete the old one. Need a "clear" button.
Also can't assign the reminder to anyone else in your group but yourself, requires you to login to the backpack website to share the reminder or assign it to other team members.
"Error posting" makes this useless
This app doesn't work. Please don't waste your money. Even when your Backpack credentials are correct and the app says you are "logged in," the app returns a "could not post status" error.
It worked ok for the first week or so. But even then, the app stored your last reminder in the entry field, so you had to backspace over it every time to set a new reminder.
Satchel and Satchel free are still better apps for setting reminders. That is my unbiased opinion.
