Update loe3 please I want to play it
Remember the pixelated retro look of Leage of Evil? That was back when we all though the pixelated retro look was cool, as if we were just as excited about pixels now as we were in 1980. Of course, if you were born after 1980, you might wonder what all the nostalgia is about. Thankfully, the pixelated fad is passing, and League of Evil 2 looks all the better for it.
Is there a name for the genre of incredible hard platforming games? How about frustraformers or rage jumpers? League of Evil 2 is one of these. Thankfully, the levels are short. Just when you are about to throw your iphone on the ground and smash it with the heal of your shoe, you finally take out that evil scientist and move on to the next level. This is at it's core a fun game.
Now the bad. The levels in League of are not consistent. The desert level was incredibly difficult and frustrating. The later mountain level was rather easy. The final set of levels seem difficult, but are also some of the shortest to pass through. The boss fights are also rather easy and boring; to defeat each boss, you wait through its attack routine and then get in a hit or two before waiting again. The controls are difficult as usual on the iPhone and I noticed an increase in touching accuracy after trimming my thumbnails. This is not a knock on the game so much as the concep of playing an old school arcade game on a touch screen. Finally, the ending was a non-existent let down. Halo 2 players will understand.
Now it works
Got this the first day it was out and was disappointed that it didn't save. That is fixed now. Yay. Times are not too bad. Get the suitcase in one run then go back and just get to the end as quickly as you can without suitcase. You can get the times. There is still a small glitch with showing the right time at end, shows previous run and not the current best time, but it still rewards you with stars. This game is better in almost every way to the first, which is still on my touch after over a year (top app that I still play no matter how little space I have it stays). As far as the double jump after walking off edges, don't forget that kicking in air will make you go that extra distance you need. Also punching on the ground is the easy way to cross small gaps and get by hammers. Great game that plays well on any generation of devices. Short levels that will keep you coming back to get better times. Can you master the 5 second sequence that will get you three stars? Buy the game and find out!
