I'm using the free version.

Pretty great app. Really helpful way to see what your eating choices look like broken down into the basics. Pretty intuitive and easy to use.
I've been using for about 3 weeks and knowing just how many calories, what percent of those calories are fat, carbs and protein and a fair evaluation of what my different exercises burn up has helped me lose 9 lbs.
I've always been a fairly healthy eater and if I were to mention to most folks that I needed to lose weight, they would ask why, as by comparison to a lot of my fellow Americans, I'm slim. But I was in an accident several years ago and my L1 vertebrae was crushed. My doctors told me then I would have to do my physical therapy exercises forever and I shouldn't gain weight. I've gained a bit over the last few years. In spite of eating healthy, I couldn't seem to get back to where I needed to be. This app is such a great help. It really will open your eyes if you take the time to track what you eat and your exercises. And it makes it easy to do that. Really, if it wasn't easy, I wouldn't have kept at it. So 10 more lbs to go and this will definitely help me get there. Try it, as I said, I'm using the free one and don't have any need to go with the premium. The ads that are in the free version are minimal, I mean really minimal.

Has kept me on track for 8 years!

I first tried this app 8 years ago when I was 50 lbs heavier. I told myself to just lose weight slowly and see if I could finally find something that I could actually stick to. Well, slowly but surly I managed to get rid of 50 lbs by just keeping track of what I ate.

I was stunned initially by how much more I did eat as opposed as to what I thought I was eating. This app keeps you honest with yourself. I took the option of losing 1/2 lb a week to make it easier. This is the only aid I used. No programs or prepared meals or supplements. Sticking to it was a bit difficult at times but I just kept logging and if I had some indulgent days I just logged those and kept going.

Losing weight slowly and logging what you eat over a long time also gives you a roadmap of what you should eat in a day to reach and more importantly to maintain after reaching your goal. I have lost and regained weight many times but I have managed to keep my weight hovering at my goal. If I get more than 5 lbs over I pull out the Lose it! app again and I get a refresher. 😑 This app has been a lifesaver for me. Keeps me healthy and happy.

Makes counting calories so easy!

Counting calories is the best way for me to lose weight and keep weight off. I use exercise to tone, strengthen, and for cardio, but exercising by itself has never helped me lose weight. Counting calories has. "Lose It" makes counting calories so easy! The app has a database of foods to choose from. It has a scanner to track servings from packaged food. You can just reenter a whole meal from a previous day and then make small edits to fit the current day (great for breakfasts that you might eat daily or leftovers). Many restaurant foods are in their database, Plus, you can input your own recipe and the app will calculate the calories. I try to count as many of the calories as I can at the start of the day. I enter what I think I'm going to have for breakfast, lunch, and snacks and am honest with myself as to whether I'm going to have ice cream or wine with dinner or grab a small latte while I'm out and about. Then I know how many calories I can play around with for dinner. I can edit throughout the day as needed. The one function I do not use is entering my exercise. I just focus on the calories.
