New bug with recent update: screen flickers black intermittently Buggy - New bug - no music
Updates should improve an application, not introduce more bugs or mess with what already works. Not pleased.
Music bug still not fixed. Avoid
Latest version has introduced a new bug. Now if I have music playing and I open the Lux Dlx 2 app the music turns off. The result is I can't listen to my iTunes music and play the game at the same time. Deal breaker. I would rather listen to my music. It used to work. It needs to be fixed.
When a computer player goes first I have seen it grant itself two or three cards. Everyone else got one or zero cards (they did no takeovers). This is an example of the computer cheating. Or a bug. Take it as you will.
Today I had a game where the scores box wasn't showing (white box in lower left with cards, armies, etc). It was nowhere on the screen at the start of the game and never appeared. Needless to say this makes the game a lot harder to play and gives the computer players a cheating advantage since they know what's going on.
Sometimes the arrows that show on the selected country don't show. This bug makes the game slightly harder to play since you don't know if you've got a country selected or not unless you attack. More mildly annoying but still a bug.
Overall, it would be a good game if the bugs were fixed. I give it a 1 startjq
Best. "Risk"-type. Strategy game. EVER!
I love Risk. I couldn't find anything like it in the AppStore years ago; finally, then came Lux. Without ripping off Risk, it is *spot-on*. The options, the many different boards, great game play. I always play the original Risk-style map and rules, and I'm completely satisfied! It seems that the original board game makers ~completely~ dropped the ball on this opportunity! As well, I cannot believe the playability I get from this game. I have purchased many, many games, and none comes close to the playability of this one that I can always come back to. Beats out Infinity Blade, The Hobbit, and Angry Birds for playability. Hard to believe? I thought so, but I can attest. Try and buy. Well worth the money!
I liked the old version better...
The game feels a little clunkier now with the bigger fonts (for army counts) but overall a great game. Even if I'm convinced it cheats... 5 armies attacking vs 2 defenders shouldn't lose 75% of the time, particularly when it wins 75% of the time when the computer attacks. It feels like this "cheat" was put in there to make the game a little harder against the computer, to compensate for poor ai. Nevertheless, great game, five stars all the way. I wish there were more large maps with huge numbers of countries!
