Working pretty good now

Used to crash pretty often when switching between Edit & Perform modes, but that might have been because it was still downloading and installing all the sounds. Seems to be working pretty good now. Love the gigantic library of sounds it comes with. That alone makes it worth the price.

Cannot Run Inside Abelton

I Like Good Podcasts

I would give this 5 stars if it would only run insdie Abelton Live! Without using soundflower (which is not ideal for playing live) Mainstage cannot be run insdie Abelton and this makes it worthless to me! It would be SO easy for Mainstage to do this but I’m giving them 1 star beause they simply choose not to. This is me BEGGING Mainstage to enable rewire inside of Abelton!

This is an awesome update.

I use this on my MPB 2.8GHz i7 (mid-2010 model), along with two keyboards for my standard gigs. They have finally made this program a breeze to set up for multiple MIDI controllers. Start-up time is considerably faster, and the UI, while slightly cleaner, really isn't that much of a change for me. The ability to customize sounds makes this purchase a no-brainer for anyone with any cheap MIDI keyboard who wants to experiment and get the creative vibes going. My KORG Kronos is still my primary board, but I utilize the MIDI interface and MainStage to provide backing tracks, notes and other coordination to provide a full range of effects and sounds -- not to mention a little insurance in case we have a band member get sick for a gig.

If you've never used an Apple Logic series program before, don't panic if the program crashes the first time you use it. It will scan and attempt to utilize any existing plugins, and if it comes across one that is incompatible, it'll crash and give you the option to re-open. Click re-open and then subsequent launches will skip that plugin.

My version has two Help menus for some reason. If you're not familiar with the program, use the far-right Help menu to review the MS3 help website. This program is really powerful and has been rock-solid reliable for me for over two years. I'm loving this new version, and I highly recommend it.
